Objectives &amp; Expectations 
Reporting to the Senior Major Gifts Officer, the Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will manage a portfolio of high 
level current and prospective donors and will be expected to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and 
steward these individuals and corporations. The MGO is expected to spend time in the field meeting 
and interfacing with key constituents and prospects in order to identify capacity with a goal of increasing 
the number of new donors and elevating current donors to greater gift levels. This successful candidate 
needs to be a forward thinking, experienced fundraising professional who can be a highly collaborative 
member of the Resource Development team and close partner to our outstanding volunteers and 
executive leadership teams. 

 
Core Job Responsibilities 

 Work closely with the Senior Major Gifts Officer to determine key metrics, accountability and 
reporting mechanisms aligned with performance, and set goals toward growth 

 Successfully manage a portfolio of high-level donors 
 Develop a specific strategy to continually identify, cultivate and solicit prospects capable of 

making major gifts to the organization 
 Assist the CEO, CDO, and Senior Major Gifts Officer in strategic relationship building 
 Ensure all donors receive appropriate, prompt acknowledgement and updates on their giving 
 Support and attend United Way events 
 Recruit and manage volunteer leaders 

Network and actively promote United Way at community events

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Parent Educator contributes to the achievement of United Way of El Paso County’s (UWEPC) mission, vision, and Education Community Impact goals by addressing a key strategy: family home visitation programs.&nbsp; The Program Manger’s responsibility is to successfully deliver the Parents as Teachers program, an evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework that builds strong communities, thriving families and children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn.

	KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Parent Educator delivers the essential PAT program functions, to include:
<ul><li>Preparing for and conducting monthly or bi-monthly home visits, including home visits with reoccurring access to vulnerable populations, which will require 27 to 35 visits per month</li>
<li>Partner with families to improve well-being, reflect with families regarding parenting styles, and facilitate discussions and play activities to foster healthy development</li>
<li>Planning and conducting group connections and family appreciation events</li>
<li>Conducting screenings and assessments for parents and children</li>
<li>Utilizing identified resources available to provide family support</li>
</ul>Administrative Compliance for Parents as Teachers
<ul><li>Complete data entry in two electronic databases including Penelope (PAT) and Extended Reach.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and complete family file records.</li>
<li>Complete daily timesheets, staff weekly and monthly reports, monthly mileage and expense reports by set deadlines.</li>
<li>Participate in monthly reflective and administrative supervision sessions.</li>
<li>Recruit families to maintain a full caseload by conducting presentations in small or large groups.</li>
<li>Request donations and incentives for active participants in the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.</li>
</ul>Professional Development
<ul><li>Complete at least 20 hours of professional development each year to maintain Parents as Teachers credential.</li>

</ul>EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
At least a four-year bachelor's degree in education, Health, Child Development, Sociology, or a related field is required.&nbsp; An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills and abilities will be considered.&nbsp;

The Manager, Resource Development will effectively manage a portfolio of campaign accounts for the annual workplace campaign and other resource development activities.

General Description: Under general supervision, the Case Manager provides case management along with service and resource coordination in a human services environment, particularly with veterans and military families as well as those with low income and homelessness related conditions.
Primary Job Responsibilities &amp; Duties: 
<ol><li>Performs needs and comprehensive assessments focused on multiple life domains; develops and updates individualized service plans in partnership with clients and their families to address their needs and facilitate referral to appropriate treatment or service providers or facilities</li>
<li>Facilitates/coordinates service, support, resource acquisition to assist client households in meeting their needs</li>
<li>Conducts activities and monitors the service environment in a manner to maximize clients ability to achieve service plan goals, develop life skills, and/or sustain success and wellness</li>
<li>Promotes resolution to client challenges, fostering client empowerment, self-sufficiency, and resilience</li>
<li>Conduct comprehensive, client-centered social work activities, to include consistent case file documentation and management in accordance with best practices and Council on Accreditation (COA) accreditation standards</li>
</ol>Other Job Duties: 
<ul><li>Supports the triage and intake of clients into the appropriate level of intervention and care</li>
<li>Advocates on behalf of clients and families for services, supports and other related resources that address their basic needs and well-being</li>
<li>Conducts community and home visits (if needed) related to client needs</li>
<li>Provides follow-up and monitors service delivery and care environments</li>
<li>Stay abreast of community resources and procedures for referring clients to appropriate resources</li>
<li>Facilitates case consultation for client situations</li>
<li>Provides crisis prevention, intervention, and supportive counseling, as needed</li>
<li>Tracks client status through resolution</li>
<li>Composes or prepares correspondence, case notes, narrative and technical reports, notifications, and related documents using computer-based applications</li>
<li>Collects, tracks and reports case data in systems utilized by United Way</li>
<li>Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor</li>
<li>Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts</li>
</ul>Supervises: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education &amp; Experience: 
<ul><li>Master’s degree required with major course work in social work, psychology, or other closely related field.</li>
<li>At least two (2) years of experience in social case work, counseling, eligibility determination, social service, or community resource referral or closely related work.</li>
<li>Veteran status* with equivalent service experience and/or certifications required.</li>
<li>Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience</li>
<li>Experience working with low income and homeless population preferred.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Experience working with veterans, service members, and families of veterans and service members strongly preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of general interviewing practices and/or techniques; knowledge of social work and counseling practices and techniques, including crisis prevention and intervention.</li>
<li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite</li>
