Marketing and Communication 

The Outreach Coordinator supports program Directors by developing and fulfilling 
the duties of a comprehensive event and outreach marketing plan. 

ï· Works with the center’s Director to coordinate educational and resource 
events, activities and workshops. 

ï· Develop collaborative relationships with a wide variety of El Paso area 
neighborhood organizations, schools, city and county agencies, as well as 
faith-based organizations and other partners. 

ï· Plan and implement promotional strategies for all programming to broaden 
program participation and deepen general public awareness of Center 
through multiple channels including print, digital, and broadcast, public 
presentations and grassroots communication. 

ï· Establish relationships with service agencies for optimal understanding as to 
what is provided, to whom and for what purpose. 

ï· Collect information regarding available resources including financial, goods 
and services to maintain and distribute resource listings. 

ï· Work with Director of Marketing and Engagement to create content to 
promote El Paso United services to include design and copywriting.

Job Summary 
 
The Clinic Resource Navigator is the direct liaison between the patients of the Lee Health 
Community Clinic and United Way 211 Information and Referral service which assists people 
seeking information and help from health and human service programs. It is the 
responsibility of the Clinic Resource Navigator to work with those in need of services to 
ensure that they receive prompt and accurate information regarding human services. This 
communication will often require problem solving and follow-up services. 

 
Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions 

 
The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 
 

 • Assimilate into clinic process to provide information and resources to patients visiting the 
clinic setting to help with human services needs. 

 • Educate clinic staff on resources available to clinic staff on resources available to clinic 
patients through 211 Navigator. 

 • Educate patients on available community resources and how to access those resources. 
 • Assist clinic patients in accessing resources as needed (through warm transfers, 

assistance with making phone calls, reaching out to resources/agencies directly on clinic 
patients’ behalf. 

 • Assist/screen clients applying for various programs including Affordable Healthcare, 
Help Me Grow, Mission United, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance), Medicaid, and 
Food Stamps. 

 • Conduct comprehensive needs and service assessments via in-person, telephone, 
email, or IM/Chat.

Assist with the daily processing of credit cards and cash receipts and reconciliations.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITESCampaign Responsibilities:<ul><li>&nbsp;Exercise independent judgement to assure the accuracy and integrity of the total campaign reported to the public and audited by outside CPA firm.</li><li>Public Sector Campaigns to include State, School, City, County Employee Campaigns.</li><li>Receive and process campaign reports, cash/checks from local businesses, individual donors, agencies, and public sector accounts.</li><li>Input and maintain organization and individual pledges through edits and postings.</li><li>Input and maintain control of Leadership donations, direct bills, and credit card pledges.</li><li>Scanning campaign reports to Save in SharePoint.</li><li>Audit campaign reports upon completion of data entry by IS for accuracy of direct bills, credit cards and cash receipts.</li><li>Investigate and write up any campaign discrepancies. Resolve errors and have corrections posted in Andar and the General Ledger.</li><li>Audit campaign documents for total accuracy.</li><li>Update and maintain manuals, deposit slips, receipt books and campaign forms for Audit area.</li><li>Assist with Final reconciliation of campaign audit to the General ledger.</li></ul>Credit Cards<ul><li>Assist with the processing of credit card payments for all campaigns and special events.</li><li>Assist with the review of credit card processor’s daily postings for accuracy.</li><li>Review Stripe credit card entries processed by online website transactions.</li></ul>Other Duties as assigned:<ul><li>General Ledger and Financial statement reconciliation.&nbsp;</li><li>Campaign Window Cashier and processor.</li><li>Apply cash receipts and credit cards to pledge receivable accounts.</li><li>Assist Public Sector accounting with input after campaign close.</li><li>Collect and send out IRS tax Letters to donors in January for payments made in the previous year.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>High school diploma or GED and 4 years of community related work experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or 2 years of community related work experience plus an associate degree.</li><li>0 -3 years’ work experience in a team atmosphere working with business operations and accounting functions, like those outlined above, preferred.</li><li>Strong relationships in the nonprofit, public and private sectors a plus.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES INFORMATION<ul><li>Good communication and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Strong ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds preferred Experience in working effectively in multicultural environments.</li><li>Professional demeanor, confident and goal oriented.</li><li>Self-motivated and creative.</li><li>Strong organizational skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities and problem-solve issues as they arise.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.&nbsp;</li><li>Competence with Adobe Products Suite, preferred.</li></ul>UNITED WAY COMPETENCIESCore Competencies (all United Way Professionals):Mission Focused, Relationship Oriented, Collaborator, Results Driven, Brand Steward&nbsp;BENEFITS<ul><li>Employer-subsidized healthcare plan with employer-funded HRA offered.</li><li>Group dental, vision, life insurance and other insurance products available.</li><li>Paid holidays, personal and sick leave time.</li><li>403(b) retirement plan with employer matching available.</li></ul>WORK ENVIRONMENT<ul><li>Normal nonprofit office environment with little exposure to dust, noise and extreme temperatures.</li><li>Extended work on personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator.</li><li>Reliable transportation required, with the ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events locally, routinely and around the state and nationally, occasionally.</li><li>Monday-Friday, 8:15 am to 4:45 pm work week with occasional evening and weekend hours.</li></ul>PHYSICAL DEMANDS<ul><li>Sedentary work on a PC; sitting for extended periods of time, routinely.&nbsp;</li><li>Movement within the office and during external meetings and events, regularly.</li><li>Bends, stoops and twists, occasionally.</li><li>Exerts up to 25 lbs. of force, occasionally.</li><li>Facilitates, presents and collaboratively interacts with others, routinely.</li><li>Perform repetitive tasks, i.e., typing and texting, routinely.</li></ul>The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by associates assigned to this classification.
