The Public Policy and Advocacy Manager will provide strategic leadership and daily management of efforts that advance our local, state and federal policy agenda while also building the advocacy capacity of our staff, volunteers and partners.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
<ul><li>Provide day-to-day support for staff, volunteers and partners to influence policy at national, state and local levels.</li>
<li>Track identified legislative and public policy priorities and update UWGC staff and volunteers on status changes.</li>

<li>Stay informed of national best practices and trends and provides strategic advice about how to integrate into UWGC’s public policy and advocacy work.</li>
<li>Monitor program quality and impact and creates reports.</li>
<li>Manage projects and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.</li>
<li>Work to grow UWGC’s advocacy network.</li>
<li>Organize and execute advocacy events and initiatives.</li>

</ul>Minimum Qualifications:

Public Policy and Advocacy Manager

The Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement will steer the strategic vision for volunteer engagement across the United Way organization, modernize technology and processes to increase and align community and corporate volunteer engagement efforts, and build stronger community relationships.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Strategic Volunteer Engagement
<ul><li>Continuously assess volunteer needs with internal and external partners. Prioritize needs based on ability to scale and design experiences that will engage volunteers to meet these needs.</li>
<li>Work closely with Resource Development and Corporate Engagement team to promote and execute Fee for Service/Revenue Generation model based on custom volunteer experiences.</li>

</ul>Modernize Technology and Data Management
<ul><li>Serve as team liaison for the Accountability and Technology Steering Committee. Ensure team needs are represented and included in decision making processes.</li>
<li>Champion organizational technology advances: ensure team tracks all relevant data consistently and cleanly using tools and programs available.</li>
<li>Continuously assess team specific technology platforms, lead change management processes for any new technology adoption.</li>
<li>Responsible for leading annual reporting to United Way Worldwide, IRS, and other entities requiring volunteer engagement data.</li>
<li>Oversee Volunteer Management Platform (VolunteerMatch), update listings for internal and external partners, ensure current or priority listings are featured.</li>
</ul>Relationship Management
<ul><li>Establish and deepen volunteer and community relationships through 1:1 internal and external meetings that serve to enhance engagement in and support of United Way’s work.</li>
<li>Develop a diverse pool of individual volunteers; collaborate with Major Gift Officers and Individual Engagement team members to identify volunteers and engage them in meaningful opportunities.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Resource Development, Community Impact, Community Connections, and other internal teams to develop holistic volunteer and community engagement plans.</li>
<li>Serve as an ambassador for United Way during community and corporate volunteer engagement events. Frequent public speaking is expected.</li>
<li>Lead recruitment of internal volunteers for organizational community engagement events. Ensure United Way has a strong, organized, and reliable presence in the community.</li>
</ul>Leadership and Team Management
<ul><li>Lead a team of volunteer engagement professionals. Build capacity and identify synergies between volunteer and community efforts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide ongoing coaching and training for Volunteer Connection team members; train cross-functional team members as needed on new volunteer products, services, and programs.</li>
<li>Develop metrics and strategic plans for meeting annual and long-term goals.</li>
<li>Develop and manage corporate and community engagement budget.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.</li>
</ul>Minimum Qualifications:

Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement

The 211 Care Coordinator assists residents in connecting to social service support by assessing needs and making referrals within a network of partnering organizations. The Care Coordinator will provide a broad-based human services needs assessment; make referrals within the referral platform; collect and record appropriate data on referrals; and follow up to ensure referrals are utilized and complete. The Care Coordination function is flexible and responsive to changing community needs. Position Overview 
The United Way of the Mid-South (UWMS) is seeking a well-organized and independent leader to serve as a Mobile Assistant Site Coordinator for a Free Tax Preparation/ VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) mobile tax site providing free tax preparation at various locations. Assisting with overseeing a mobile free tax site, which offers free federal and state income tax preparation for qualifying families and individuals from January - April. With the guidance of Community Impact leadership, this individual will assist in the management of a Free Tax Preparation/VITA site.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
<ul><li>The Mobile Assistant Site Coordinator will assist in managing a mobile tax site for the tax season, providing Free Tax preparation at various locations.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Helping to recruit, schedule and manage volunteer tax preparers for the season, ensuring all volunteers have obtained the necessary certifications.</li>
<li>Conduct Quality Reviews of returns filed by fellow volunteers.</li>
<li>Assist in site management including, maintaining confidentiality, client services, tax return review and transmission, and volunteer relations</li>
<li>Provides support and guidance to volunteer staff who prepare electronic tax returns for low and moderate-income taxpayers.</li>
<li>Responsible for the collaboration with the United Way Agency partners who will help in identifying potential clients for tax preparation.</li>
<li>Assisting with tax preparation when necessary.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Completing the Volunteer Standards of Conduct, Intake/Interview/Quality Review, Site Coordinator, advanced IRS Tax Law, HSA and Military certifications</li>
