POSITION SUMMARY 
This role will be responsible for transporting, operating, and maintaining a 24-foot mobile shower trailer 
which provides essential hygiene services to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. 
A reliable, detail-oriented individual who’s passionate about making a positive impact in the community 
is essential to this role. 
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 • Transportation: Safely and efficiently drive a large pickup truck towing a 24-foot shower trailer to 
and from designated sites following all traffic laws and safety regulations. 

 • Setup: Configure the shower trailer at event locations, ensuring proper connections to water and 
power sources for seamless operation. 

 • Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on the trailer, including emptying grey and black 
water tanks, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and overall condition to ensure reliability. 

 • Cleaning: Maintain a sanitary and welcoming environment by thoroughly cleaning the interior and 
exterior of the trailer after each event. Stock and replenish supplies. 

 • Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service to event organizers and attendees, 
proactively addressing questions and concerns to enhance the overall experience. 

KEY REQUIREMENTS: 
 • Valid South Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record. 
 • Experience operating large vehicles such as trailers or RVs. 
 • Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs. 
 • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. 
 • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

Flexible Schedule Requirements and Pay: 
This position requires a flexible schedule to accommodate varying schedules (mornings, afternoons, and 
evenings) and locations. For the first couple months, hours will be approximately 20 hours per week, then 
will be reduced to approximately 10 hours per week. This position pays $25 per hour.

Objectives &amp; Expectations: 
The Mobility Mentor will work in partnership with individuals through coaching, preparing and encouraging them on their 

journey toward self-sufficiency through goal setting. They will demonstrate an understanding of the issues, community 

needs, and existing systems of care related to the ALICE population. Mobility Mentoring is defined as the professional 

practice of partnering with individuals so that over time they may acquire the resources, skills, and sustained behavior 

changes necessary to attain and preserve their economic independence. Mobility Mentors coach individuals in setting 

priorities, developing action plans, honoring commitments, connecting to resources, and achieving goals. Candidates 

must be customer focused; data driven, organized, and results oriented. This position is based in Norfolk, and the mentor 

must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and/or weekends to meet individual’s needs. Successful 

candidates will have a strong ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and educate stakeholders on the 

needs of the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population. Experience implementing motivational 

interviewing and trauma-informed practices is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 
 • Provide direct coaching/mentoring by carrying a full caseload of up to thirty individuals per year 

 • Identify the strengths of participants and support individuals in overcoming barriers through problem solving. 

 • Assist participants in setting goals related to family and personal well-being, career, education, housing and family 
finances while breaking down goals into manageable steps recognizing barriers to self-sufficiency that are multi-

faceted. 

 • Thorough documentation of coaching activities in an objective, detailed, and timely manner 

 • Accurate tracking and reporting of demographic information and data regarding individual assessment, goal setting, 
goal achievement, and referrals within specified guidelines. 

 • Serve as a resource for the individual and family on issues including housing, budgeting, career and education, 
childcare, health care, and more 


 • Maintain a working knowledge of community resources and advocacy to initiate and coordinate service delivery and 
follow-up. 

 • Meet with individuals at times and locations that meet their needs. Majority of meetings will be at participant homes 
or out in the community. 

 • Establish collaborative partnerships with other public and private agencies/services, and establish ongoing 
connections, resources and support for participants

Key Skills Requirements:

About the Position 

Provide hands-on, community-based services to remove barriers to seeking assistance. 
This position is responsible for answering incoming calls, walk-ins, chat and text platforms, in

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES INCLUDE: 

 • Provide short -term case management services to identify needs and help to stabilize 
families. 

 • Respond to client concerns via inbound phone calls and/or walk-ins, with an 
appropriate tone of voice, paying close attention to voice inflection and volume. 

 • Maintain a non-judgmental attitude when speaking with callers, displaying sensitivity to all 
cultural backgrounds. 

 • Assessing caller needs and facilitating appropriate referrals for families and individuals 
seeking health and human service information. 

 • Accessing the 2-1-1 database for resources and appropriately refer callers. 

 • Demonstrate proficiency in using call center software, computer hardware and telephone

 • Provide application assistance for financial assistance and supplemental programs, 
i.e. SNAP, LIHEAP

United Way of Greater Cincinnati (UWGC) is seeking a detail-oriented Associate to join our growing Project LIFT Network team. Project LIFT is a community-driven initiative focused on empowering families financially through collaborative efforts with diverse partners across the region.This role serves as a central support within the Project LIFT Network to manage successful network operations, ensure quality data collection and reporting, and promote effective process and process improvement.&nbsp;General Function:<ul><li>Facilitate Effective Network Processes: Collaborate with the Senior Manager to ensure alignment and connectivity among Project LIFT Network partners. Promote understanding of the network's shared purpose and goals and create efficient processes to support network activities.</li></ul><ul><li>Facilitate Data Management and Process Improvement: Develop and maintain processes and procedures to support the coordination of network activities and functions. Ensure data quality through data collection, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. Support the implementation of new technology platforms and tools to enhance network efficiency.</li></ul><ul><li>Guide Network Activities: Provide guidance to network members on data collection, analysis, and reporting. Assist in the evaluation of network activities to measure progress and inform decision-making. Support the development of best practices and reports to guide data quality and community impact.</li></ul><ul><li>Cultivation of Trust, Learning, and Accountability: Help build and promote a culture of trust, learning, and accountability within the Project LIFT Network. Foster open communication, transparency, and mutual respect among network members to strengthen relationships and enhance collective impact.</li></ul>Key Areas of Responsibility:<ul><li>Assessment and Progress Tracking: Help to implement systematic assessment and tracking methods to monitor the progress and outcomes of the Project LIFT collaborative effort. Regularly assess and evaluate the effectiveness of network activities in achieving the initiative's goals.</li></ul><ul><li>Continuous Learning and Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Project LIFT Network. Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for enhancement and collaborate with team members to implement improvements.</li></ul><ul><li>Alignment of Common Measures: Act as central support for the Project LIFT Network by monitoring common measures of success for the Project LIFT initiative, including stable or increased income, goal achievement, and barriers removed for families. Ensure alignment of network activities with these measures.</li></ul><ul><li>Data Management and Reporting: Serve as the backbone support for the Project LIFT Network by managing the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to Project LIFT outcomes. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of data to the shared data collection platform and stakeholders, facilitating transparency and accountability.</li></ul><ul><li>Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with network members and stakeholders to ensure understanding and alignment with assessment and tracking processes.</li></ul><ul><li>Promotion of Data-Informed Practices: Promote the use of data-informed practices within the Project LIFT Network. Provide training and support to network members on data collection, analysis, and utilization of the shared data collection platform (Salesforce).</li></ul><ul><li>Maintenance of Network Operations: Play a key role in keeping the Project LIFT Network running smoothly by providing essential administrative and logistical support. Help to coordinate resource allocation, scheduling, and operational logistics to ensure the network has the necessary resources and capacity to achieve its goals.</li></ul><ul><li>Documentation and Communication: Document assessment methodologies, findings, and recommendations for internal reference and external communication. Document key decisions, actions, and outcomes from collaborative efforts within the Project LIFT Network.
