Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role supervises four (4) team members, who manage their own corporate partner portfolios. Together, the entire team identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards corporate donors, as well as manages a robust workplace giving program. Donor Relations Manager 
 
Position Summary: 


The Donor Relations Manager develops plans, implements and evaluates 

accounts of United Way of Forsyth County corporate partners and individuals 

with a focus on identifying growth opportunities as well as identifying new 

resource opportunities in order to enhance annual and long-term fundraising 

goals and promote UWFC’s strategic mission, with a measured focus on 

personal donor connections. 
 
Reports to: Chief Development Officer 


Position Duties &amp; Responsibilities 
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level

ï· Prepares and executes year-round relationship plans for company 

accounts and individual investors with a focus on maximizing potential 

and growth. 

ï· Develop and adapt plans for challenging companies 

ï· Focus on attracting and developing new partnerships. 

ï· Heavy focus on individual donor engagement with expectations of 

meeting ambitious goals around personal contact with donors and 

prospects. 

ï· Works closely with volunteers to leverage experience and connections 

to gain better access to company leadership and build strong, more 

effective relationships. 

ï· Prepares and executes an ongoing engagement plan for assigned 

individual donors. 

ï· Cultivate major gifts and planned giving prospects through ongoing 

engagement. 

ï· Prepares and executes an individual campaign plan for all accounts 

assigned. 

ï· Ensures the accuracy of data on all accounts and maintains strict 

confidentiality of personal account and financial information. 

ï· Works as part of a team to develop and execute a year-round 

engagement plan for companies and individual investors. 

ï· Establishes rigorous individualized personal and professional 

development plans. 


ï· Understands and supports UWFC’s strategic direction in the 

community. 

ï· Identifies and develops new opportunities for resources. (Expansion in 

existing accounts as well as potential new companies/investors) 

ï· A willingness to take on additional duties to ensure the success of the 

team 

ï· Occasional local travel may be required with some events/tasks outside 

of traditional work hours 
 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

 • Bachelor's degree preferred. 

 • At least two years of fundraising experience required. 

 • Knowledge of Forsyth County and the human service sector is 

preferred. 

 *Proficiency in Micro Office Suite, and donor database platforms. 
 *Work experience may substitute for education requirements.

ï· Physical Requirements: ability to move supplies weighing up to 

20lbs. 

ï· NC Driver’s license and auto insurance are required. 

ï· This is a hybrid position; 4 days in the office Friday remote. 

ï· FLSA status: Exempt

This position collaborates with United Way staff, school districts, community partners, and an external evaluator to develop and implement measurable outcomes that support the growth and sustainability of Community Schools. The Data Coordinator uses data to strengthen partnerships, deepen schools’ understanding of continuous improvement, streamline reporting, and drive collective impact to improve educational outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluation and Improvement • Research and promote best practices for the implementation of the Community Schools strategy; support internal teams and partners in advancing high-quality implementation • Analyze community and statewide data to inform and guide the scaling and expansion of Community School strategy • Review and adjust action plan templates to help Community School partners identify, align, and measure strategic priorities effectively • Collaborate with a third-party evaluator to support both implementation and outcome evaluation effortsTechnical Assistance • Train schools and agency partners on procedures for data collection and monitoring to ensure compliance • Support and provide technical assistance for using data for continuous improvement among school and agency partners • Assist schools and local stakeholder councils in developing and implementing annual assets and needs assessmentsStakeholder Engagement • Assist in advancement of Community School Strategy statewide by aiding the Coalition in using data to articulate need and impact • Prepare visualizations, reports, and presentations to report data and evaluation findings to stakeholders • Support facilitation of Coalition data and evaluation workgroups and committeesCoordination and Reporting • Manage collection, cleaning, and accessibility of data from multiple data sources (quantitative and qualitative) among various project partners • Monitor program-level performance measures and community-level indicators aligned to reporting requirements and maintain accurate and organized compliance data with supporting documentation • Support submission of required grant reportsAdditional Responsibilities • Provide support to other departments and core functions of United Way, including operations, marketing, and resource development, to advance our mission • Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and recognize that various combinations of education and experience can contribute to the necessary knowledge and abilities for this role. POSITION SUMMARY&nbsp; The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and development strategies to support United Way of Erie County’s mission and long-term sustainability of the Community School Model.
