Position Summary: The Vice President of Development serves as a key strategic leader, 
guiding the Development Team in designing, implementing, and supporting all fundraising

As an Associate Director, you will develop and build relationships in the community to address the health and human service needs of the community through United Way Miami. Develop and maintain various fundraising initiatives to include individual and corporate fundraising.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:<ul><li>Manage an account portfolio approximately 100-125 prospective and current donors at the $10,000 Tocqueville Society and higher, to include goal setting. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors.</li><li>Participates in all aspects of the gift cycle:</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Initiate contacts with current Tocqueville Society and major donors&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Initiate contacts with potential Tocqueville Society and major donors to generate new business&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Develops appropriate cultivation strategies for them, including working with volunteers&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Moves potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Makes solicitations when appropriate&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;- Maintains stewardship contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate empathetic disposition, &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;and perseverance; reflect optimistic and positive attitude, and convey sensitivity to needs of the donors<ul><li>Ensures that all Tocqueville Society gifts are accounted for during the fiscal year.</li><li>Participates in 15-20 donor meetings a month.</li><li>Works collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development staff, and other United Way staff to achieve the needs of the prospects.</li><li>Work with the Prospect Manager to identify new business and participate in prospect management activities to ensure coordination of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.</li><li>Attends United Way events as well as outside events for United Way representation, networking etc.</li><li>Responsible for soliciting gifts of $10,000 and higher from individuals</li><li>Collaborate with the Development Officers to identify major and planned gift prospects within giving communities and employee campaigns to create, cultivate and solicit Tocqueville Society donors.&nbsp;</li><li>Data management- strategically implement reports into the fundraising approach, utilization of United Way’s customer relationship management tool, Andar, maintain data quality and integrity.</li><li>Work closely with team members including administrative, marketing and engagement teams.</li><li>Identify prospects, engage them in the work of United Way and secure appropriate revenues through cross-selling opportunities.
