Position Description
Summary/Objective
Corporate partnerships and workplace giving have been central to United Way's impact for generations, and today they remain one of the most powerful ways companies and employees come together to strengthen our community. The Corporate Relations Manager represents a strategic revenue growth opportunity focused on increasing engagement among high-potential corporate partners while building a sustainable pipeline of new corporate relationships that support long-term organizational growth.
This role serves as a key driver of new business development by converting engaged Valley 100 companies into active partners, cultivating new corporate relationships, and expanding engagement within industries and sectors currently underrepresented in Valley of the Sun United Way's portfolio. Through strategic relationship management, consultative fundraising, and partnership development, the Corporate Relations Manager creates new revenue opportunities while strengthening corporate investment in community impact.
In addition, this role manages a centralized portfolio of growth-potential corporate accounts and is responsible for identifying the companies with the strongest readiness, timing, and alignment for increased engagement. Using data insights, historical giving patterns, corporate social responsibility priorities, and relationship intelligence, the Corporate Relations Manager develops segmented outreach strategies that uncover near-term opportunities and build a pipeline for sustainable growth.
Essential Functions
- Manage a centralized portfolio of corporate accounts with growth potential using data insights, relationship history, CSR alignment, campaign timing, and engagement indicators to prioritize accounts with the greatest likelihood for near-term growth and deeper cultivation.
- Develop and execute comprehensive, segmented outreach strategies that identify opportunities for workplace giving, corporate investment, sponsorship, volunteer engagement, leadership giving, and giving circle participation.
- Identify, research, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships with a focus on converting Valley 100 companies into active supporters and expanding engagement within underrepresented industries and sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate leaders, employee engagement teams, human resources professionals, and corporate social responsibility decision-makers to create meaningful and sustainable partnerships.
- Actively manage and grow strategic corporate accounts using a consultative fundraising approach to increase engagement, deepen relationships, and secure financial support that advances Valley of the Sun United Way's mission.
- Achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals through workplace giving campaigns, corporate sponsorships, corporate contributions, leadership giving opportunities, giving circle participation, and new partnership development efforts.
- Collaborate effectively within the team and across diverse departments to align strategies, share resources, and achieve organizational goals.
- Deliver compelling presentations that effectively communicate Valley of the Sun United Way's value proposition, inspire engagement and giving, and connect prospective and existing partners to meaningful community impact opportunities.
- Represent Valley of the Sun United Way at community, business, networking, and industry events to build relationships, generate qualified opportunities, and increase organizational visibility among corporate leaders.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of account activities, engagement touchpoints, strategic plans, and donor history within VSUW's relationship management system and donor database.
- Stay informed on VSUW and community volunteer opportunities and strategically leverage them to strengthen corporate relationships while actively participating in and supporting volunteer engagement initiatives to cultivate and steward partners.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by actively seeking opportunities for professional growth, implementing best practices, and embracing feedback to enhance performance and outcomes.
- Provide accurate and timely reports based on established requirements.
