It also requires strict adherence to all state and federal laws and all United Way of the River Cities, Inc. policies and procedures.<h3>Key Responsibility Areas</h3><ol><li>Bookkeeping/Payroll<ol><li>Act on any correspondence relating to accounts receivable/payable.</li><li>Post accounts/campaign receivable to accounting/CRM systems daily. Generate reports regularly verifying accounts receivable.</li><li>Prepare and mail statements of balance due on accounts/campaign receivable.</li><li>Post pledge cancellations as appropriate and determine uncollectible receivables annually.</li><li>Verify Direct Deposit amounts with banks daily.</li><li>Maintain e-Pledge ACH/credit card system.</li><li>Prepare checks for operating disbursements and agency grants.</li><li>Reconcile all bank accounts monthly.</li><li>Assist Fundraising staff with CRM processing and necessary documentation.</li><li>Post CRM transactions to accounting system at least monthly.</li><li>Generate and deliver annual tax receipts to donors.</li><li>Compute payroll and maintain tax records including monthly federal tax deposits, quarterly payroll tax returns and annual W-2’s.</li><li>Complete mileage and other expense reimbursements to employees.</li><li>Coordinate and manage payment of employee benefits.</li></ol></li><li>Planning<ol><li>Assist Executive Director and staff in establishing an annual operating budget, and with budget monitoring and forecasting throughout the fiscal year.</li><li>Assist Finance Committee by completing preliminary financial reviews of grant applicants.</li></ol></li><li>Operations<ol><li>Ensure all business licenses are current, and records maintained.</li><li>Ensure all insurance policies are current, and records maintained.</li><li>Ensure all property records are current, and records maintained.</li><li>Ensure all technology licenses and other facility/equipment agreements are current and records maintained.</li><li>Ensure all lease and other property rental agreements are current and records maintained.</li><li>Assist Executive Director in coordinating daily operations of agency facilities.</li><li>Oversee facility and equipment contractors working at agency facilities.</li></ol></li><li>Reporting<ol><li>Maintain appropriate financial history as required by United Way of the River Cities and by government entities.</li><li>Prepare financial statements quarterly for Board of Directors and as needed for staff.</li><li>Assist with completion of annual United Way Worldwide requirements including Membership Certification and the Database 2 report.</li><li>Work with CPA firm contracted for annual audits of United Way of the River Cities, Inc. and United Way of the River Cities Foundation, Inc., providing records, files, documentation and other information as requested by auditors.</li><li>Work with contracted CPA firm to complete and file annual 990 tax forms.</li><li>Prepare reports and other documentation required to support grants received by the agency from government, charitable, corporate, or other external organizations.</li></ol></li></ol>Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in financial management, accounting or related field preferred.</li><li>Minimum five (5) years of accounting management experience preferred.</li><li>Experience with non-profit accounting preferred.</li></ul>Core Competencies&nbsp;<ul><li>Strategic Community Collaborator: Engages diverse stakeholders to accurately assess community needs and strategically guides United Way to contribute to the community’s priorities.</li><li>Effective &amp;
