 Job Title: Senior Marketing 
Manager Reporting to: Senior Director, Marketing

Purpose of Position 
We are seeking an experienced Senior Marketing Manager to join our team. 
 
The Senior Marketing Manager will play a key role in shaping and maintaining a cohesive brand image for 
Orange County United Way across the community. This role will focus on supporting the marketing and 
communication needs for our Development and Philanthropy teams, signature events, and other key 
marketing initiatives. The successful candidate will manage the end-to-end execution of marketing 
projects, both print and digital, with a hands-on approach to ensuring high-quality output. 
 
In addition, the Sr. Marketing Manager will work closely with and manage a Marketing Specialist, serving 
as their direct supervisor. This includes leading, mentoring, and developing the Marketing Specialist, 
ensuring alignment on project goals, and fostering a collaborative team environment. 
 
Key responsibilities include understanding the unique needs and goals of each project, documenting 
requirements, setting and prioritizing timelines, and ensuring on-time delivery. This role requires strong 
vendor management skills, the ability to work collaboratively across internal teams, and the capability to 
lead both independently and alongside consultants. The Senior Marketing Manager will be expected to 
lead in the execution of projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality results that align with 
organizational objectives and uphold brand integrity. 
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities 

 • Serve as the lead point of contact for our Development, Grant, Philanthropy, Event and 
Corporate Engagement teams for all marketing requests. 

 • Develop and implement marketing strategies to execute projects timely and successfully. 
Understand the needs, the goals, and the audience to provide guidance and deliver efficient 
solutions. 

 • Oversee budgets and timelines. Responsible for driving projects to on-time completion and 
communicate changes to project timelines, scope, and budget when applicable. 

 • Track projects on the marketing project traffic tool and update status weekly. 
 • Execute projects from concept to completion. 
 • Responsible for all the assets development (email marketing, video production, photoshoots, 

event support, advertising, collaterals, content development, event social media plan, website 
updates, promotional items, etc.). 

 • Understand the principles of branding and design to create and update marketing materials as 


needed. 
 • Create tracking and prepare marketing reports to brief stakeholders on key performance 

indicators (KPIs). 
 • Support and manage other marketing projects as needed.

 • Experience managing successful media and print advertising. 
 • Knowledge of WordPress, SEO, and UX/UI best practices. 
 • Well-versed with design tools like Canva and some experience with builders platforms like 

Formstack. 
 • Experience with social media content development. 
 • Experience with basic HTML, CRM platforms, and video editing software. 

 
Job Requirements 

 • 10+ years of project management experience with a proven track record of success completing 
event marketing and print and digital projects. 

 • Bachelor’s degree preferred

Fund Development •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Implement a sustainable process for fund development to ensure long-term revenue growth. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Identify non-traditional revenue streams such as grants, sponsorships, and individual planned giving. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Identify and secure sponsorship funding from businesses and individuals for annual events, volunteer initiatives, and community impact initiatives. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Research and identify new sources of campaign revenue through government and private funding prospects. Cultivate prospects and establish relationships with existing funders. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop relationships in the community and pursue opportunities for joint resource development.&nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In partnership with the Community Initiatives and Fund Development Associate and the finance team, develop funding proposals; grant applications; and reports to funders that will support community investments through the Annual Community Campaign.Account Management •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Frequently update and maintain donor information in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and database for specific business sectors and individual accounts, including memorializing specific account history.•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Assist and support the direct mail process for soliciting individuals and small business supporters. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Develop and maintain a business plan for performance tracking of each campaign account, individual, and prospect group. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Retrieve data from the campaign database and assemble campaign and direct mail materials for use in internal and external meetings. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Work jointly with the Marketing and Communications Director and the Resource Development Director to process recognition award certificates and thank you letters to the management and employees of organizations that ran an employee workplace campaign. &nbsp; &nbsp; •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Provide relevant historical donor data to assist the Campaign Cabinet in setting the annual campaign goal. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Research and analyze leadership giving and formally develop a leadership giving program. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool and database for all corresponding campaigns. &nbsp;Attend trainings, including those related to ANDAR and E-Pledge. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Work with the Director of Resource Development, UWBC board members, Campaign Chair, and Campaign Cabinet to implement new and creative strategies for workplace campaigns.Internal and External Interaction Management •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Establish and maintain relationships with UWBC staff, volunteers, contributors, Funded Community Partners, and members of the organization’s Board of Directors to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In collaboration with the marketing team, create a monthly e-newsletter for donors. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Serve as Resource Development Department liaison to fellow UWBC staff; provide regular updates on department activities and events. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Participate in meetings and training programs to enhance knowledge and build stronger skills for promoting UWBC initiatives and products. Participate in UWBC programs and events as directed. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Attend mandatory organizational, departmental, and committee meetings and trainings as directed. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all UWBC operations. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Interact internally with all levels of staff, as well as externally with donors, staff members of profit and not-for-profit businesses and government agencies, the general public, community leaders, and stakeholders. •&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Other duties as deemed necessary.
