Community Impact Administrative Intern 

The Director of 211 will ensure the operational excellence of the 211 social services helpline and its related services. This role involves supervising the resource database team and overseeing the 211-call center and KYNECT teams. Additionally, the Director will lead all relevant 211 programming, including staff coordination, service delivery, data collection, program evaluation, fund development, and grant compliance. Working closely with UWBG leadership team members, they will shape the strategic direction for the service and seek new opportunities to expand the mission and revenue. The Director will ensure effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders, including valued funders, state 211 provider networks, non-profit partners, and emergency response agencies. They will also develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan designed to maintain a fully funded 211 program and exceed requisite operational funding.As a subject-matter expert with a keen understanding of the industry and regulatory requirements around the information and referral sector of human services, the Director will oversee all additional components of the daily operation of 211.The 211 program is a free and confidential information and referral service available 24/7 online and over the phone. It connects individuals to a wide range of health and human services resources. Common requests received by 211 specialists include assistance with housing and utility bills. Primarily, this role will lead Project LIFT, a network of community partners focused on building long-term relationships with families and supporting them on their path towards economic well-being through family-centered coaching and financial supports.Key Areas of Responsibility:Initiative Leadership and Project Management: <ul><li>Provide strategic leadership in implementing initiatives to strengthen the impact of United Way’s impact networks (with a primary focus on Project LIFT).</li><li>Contribute to United Way’s shared framework for network leadership, facilitation, community feedback and evaluation through direct management of a network of partners.</li><li>Support the application of relevant research and practices in network building and collaborative systems change within the projects managed.</li><li>Oversee efforts to manage project-level data and outcomes for projects to support continuous learning and improvement. </li><li>Report verbally and in writing regularly to internal teams, leaderships, and external stakeholders (including funding partners and other investors).</li><li>Lead project management for key projects and serve as an active partner/member on the United Way team to drive positive impact on the team.</li><li>Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and accountability within the organization.</li></ul>Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: <ul><li>Engage community partners and community members to regularly gather input and understand needs and assets across the region. </li><li>Lead collaboration with leaders, practitioners, families and community stakeholders within networks, such as Project LIFT, to build and foster shared vision and practices, learning and collaboration to support family’s economic well-being.</li><li>Provide regular communication and technical assistance to community partners to support the goals of specific projects.</li><li>Identify and coordinate capacity building opportunities for partners as necessary to strengthen the network and best position it to achieve the shared outcomes.</li><li>Convene partners on a regular basis at a leadership and practitioner level to share updates, identify key learnings or challenges, build shared practices and tools and evaluate the impact of the network.</li><li>Represent United Way on key external committees where the work aligns.</li></ul>Management, Operations, and Internal Collaboration: <ul><li>Manage other team member(s) on the team to ensure strong and timely implementation of all projects. Coach and develop staff as needed. </li><li>Provide support across the impact team to ensure rigorous project management, including documentation of projects and key actions through charters, SOPs, and regular evaluation. </li><li>Collaborate closely with other leaders on the impact team to ensure collaboration across the team, cross-training and coordination. </li><li>Support the management of all financial budgets for projects and annual operations.</li><li>Work closely with area center directors and other internal staff to coordinate network activities across the region and leverage internal expertise as needed (marketing, finance, IT, etc.). </li><li>Support grant writing, reporting, corporate engagement and advocacy, as needed, to help build awareness, raise resources and influence systems change. </li></ul>Thought Leadership and Advocacy: <ul><li>Stay up to date of all relevant research and best practices in collective impact and social change networks. Project LIFT is a community-driven initiative focused on empowering families financially through collaborative efforts with diverse partners across the region.This role serves as a central support within the Project LIFT Network to manage successful network operations, ensure quality data collection and reporting, and promote effective process and process improvement.
