OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Parent Educator contributes to the achievement of United Way of El Paso County’s (UWEPC) mission, vision, and Education Community Impact goals by addressing a key strategy: family home visitation programs.&nbsp; The Program Manger’s responsibility is to successfully deliver the Parents as Teachers program, an evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework that builds strong communities, thriving families and children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn.

	KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Parent Educator delivers the essential PAT program functions, to include:
<ul><li>Preparing for and conducting monthly or bi-monthly home visits, including home visits with reoccurring access to vulnerable populations, which will require 27 to 35 visits per month</li>
<li>Partner with families to improve well-being, reflect with families regarding parenting styles, and facilitate discussions and play activities to foster healthy development</li>
<li>Planning and conducting group connections and family appreciation events</li>
<li>Conducting screenings and assessments for parents and children</li>
<li>Utilizing identified resources available to provide family support</li>
</ul>Administrative Compliance for Parents as Teachers
<ul><li>Complete data entry in two electronic databases including Penelope (PAT) and Extended Reach.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and complete family file records.</li>
<li>Complete daily timesheets, staff weekly and monthly reports, monthly mileage and expense reports by set deadlines.</li>
<li>Participate in monthly reflective and administrative supervision sessions.</li>
<li>Recruit families to maintain a full caseload by conducting presentations in small or large groups.</li>
<li>Request donations and incentives for active participants in the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.</li>
</ul>Professional Development
<ul><li>Complete at least 20 hours of professional development each year to maintain Parents as Teachers credential.</li>
<li>Attend all required trainings: Core Curriculum trainings, Technology Training, PAT Foundational and Model Implementation trainings, Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Life Skills Progression, Cultural Competency Training, Health Screenings and other trainings as recommended by program to enhance professional skills and capacity building.</li>
</ul>EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
At least a four-year bachelor's degree in education, Health, Child Development, Sociology, or a related field is required.&nbsp; An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills and abilities will be considered.&nbsp;
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
Successful candidate must also embody personal attributes of honesty, integrity, professional behavior, tact, sense of urgency, and sense of humor.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and daily access to reliable vehicle.

The Pledge Receivable Accountant reports to the Director, Accounts Receivable and is a member of the Finance department of UWGA. MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Case Manager Responsibilities include: 

ï· Complete intake record and identify reasons for referral. 
ï· Assist participants enrolled in the PAT Program with basic needs. 
ï· Create and customize a service plan with each participant receiving case 

management services. 
ï· Monitor and evaluate the service plan as needed during services period. 
ï· Be in contact with the family monthly until terms on the service plan are 

addressed/provided/remedied. 
ï· Complete warm-hands off/referrals to entities in El Paso that are better 

suited/preferred to meet the needs of the PAT participants. 

 
Administrative Compliance for HOPES: 

ï· Complete data entry in data entry systems. 
ï· Maintain accurate and complete family file records. 
ï· Complete daily timesheets, staff weekly and monthly reports, monthly 

mileage and expense reports by set deadlines. 
ï· Participate in monthly reflective and administrative supervision sessions. 
ï· Recruit families to maintain a full caseload by conducting presentations in 

small or large groups.

ï· Request donations and incentives for active participants in the PAT

Qualifications--Knowledge, Education and Experience 
Bachelor’s degree in subjects related to health and human services, education,

The Associate is a key part of the CoC team and will work in close partnership with service providers and other members of the CoC team to ensure key planning activities are performed in support of the homeless response system to make homelessness rare, brief, and nonrecurring in Sedgwick County. &nbsp;Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions<ul><li>Assist the CoC Planning Manager in running the local CoC competition and coordinate the completion of the collaborative CoC grant application.</li><li>Help plan and execute the annual Point-in-Time Count and Housing Inventory Count&nbsp;</li><li>Stay up to date with HUD regulations and help the CoC Planning Manager train providers on those regulations.</li><li>Support the CoC Planning Manager in annual project monitoring and as needed monthly monitoring on poorly performing projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Work with the CoC team to perform quarterly reviews of project performance and expenditures to ensure compliance with grant agreements.&nbsp;</li><li>Build relationships with members of the CoC and non-members to work towards ending homelessness, especially with landlords, property owners, and local businesses.</li><li>Prepare for each year’s NOFO and YHDP grant opportunities by working to complete required elements of both grants in the year prior, including organizing and providing training at CoC meetings in collaboration with CE and HMIS Leads.&nbsp;</li><li>Sit on and help organize committees needed for the NOFO or compliance, like the Governance Charter committee and Alliance of Overlooked Neighbors, a committee consisting of persons with lived experience of homelessness.</li><li>Assist the CoC Planning Manager in preparing a needs-gap analysis and all other tasks required by 24 CFR 578 that are not done by the board, HMIS Lead, CE Lead, committees, or CoC projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Help staff all CoC and Advisory Board meetings and keep both groups focused on achieving the vision of the CoC.&nbsp;</li><li>Communicate the work done by CoC and needs of the unhoused community internally and externally, including writing and sending out a weekly email.</li><li>Help organize monthly CoC meetings, as well as plan an annual meeting designed to bring in new members to the CoC.</li></ul>Minimum Requirements and Qualifications<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree required.</li><li>At least two years of experience working with persons experiencing homelessness, homeless service providers, and/or in low-income housing developers/providers.</li><li>Proficiency in using computers, including MS Office, the internet, and databases.</li><li>Strong written and oral communication skills.</li><li>Strong relationship and team-building skills.</li><li>Strong ability to lead teams towards a common goal.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent administrative skills and ability to accurately maintain highly detailed data.</li><li>Capable of working effectively with limited supervision.</li><li>Able to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.</li></ul>Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:&nbsp;<ul><li>Naturally curious and self-motivated in a never-ending pursuit of continuous improvement.</li><li>Ability to interact positively with individuals and groups.&nbsp;</li><li>Must be flexible and multitask oriented; can adapt to changing priorities.&nbsp;</li><li>Can work independently and responsibly while managing numerous projects simultaneously.&nbsp;</li><li>Dependable and reliable to meet deadlines; remains calm under pressure.&nbsp;</li><li>Lead by personal example; your word is your bond.&nbsp;</li><li>Servant leader who can positively influence others not under their control.&nbsp;</li><li>Possess excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li><li>Helps create a work environment that embraces and appreciates diversity.</li></ul>Core Competencies for all United Way Professionals<ul><li>Mission-Focused: The United Way Professional’s top priority is to create real social change that leads to better lives and healthier communities.
