Job ClassificationUnder limited direction,Senior Managers contribute to the stated goals of UWCCR by serving as technical and/or operational experts in their field. They are expected to be individual contributors as well as leads on organizational initiatives. This level requires professional knowledge gained through substantial applicable work experience in the industry, to supplement functional knowledge, allowing the ability to address complex issues as they arise. Senior Managers possess a comprehensive understanding of how all capabilities of the organization can be accessed to leverage and connect other functional areas to address issues. Senior Managers are the first level of leadership potentially responsible for managing a small group of employees, outside contractors, or functional oversight of various internal/external customers. They operate with significant latitude for unreviewed actions and decisions and are expected to perform and complete tasks reasonably sufficiently. The level has an impact on the organization through joint influence over and shared responsibility with more senior management for planning of resources, budgets, and policies. Senior Managers have significant involvement and interaction with outside stakeholders.
Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Individual Giving is responsible for maintaining and enhancing existing relationships with individual donors. The Senior Manager is responsible for developing, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual United Way donors and prospects in the assigned portfolio. This position manages relationships across the donor lifecycle, with focus on acquiring, retaining, upgrading and recognizing donors through personalized engagement strategies. The Senior Manager is responsible for achieving or surpassing annual goals for donor participation and giving. The Senior Manager works collaboratively across the Resource Development and Marketing team. The Senior Manager coordinates closely with the other Managers in the Resource Development department. Ultimately, this position is responsible for assuring effective UWCCR fundraising and meeting strategic plan goals and connecting donors to their passions with UWCCR’s mission and community impact
Essential Functions
Donor Portfolio Management -90%Manage and grow, and steward United Way donors at the assigned donor portfolio annual gift level.
· Develop comprehensive individual fundraising and engagement plan for donors within assigned portfolio.
· Achieve targets for donor participation, total contributions and increased donations for assigned donor portfolio.
· Engage, steward and enhance relationships with donors in assigned donor portfolio.
· Identify, steward and re-engage lapsed donors at assigned portfolio level. Responsible for establishing donor pipeline.
· Meeting or exceeding other KPI’s as developed for the portfolio
· Interfaces with the Finance and Operations Department on matters that include dealing with pledge processing, customer relationship management and donor designations.

· Coordinate with members of the Resource Development team to engage, recruit and steward United Way donors and action group members within workplace campaigns.
· Responsible for stewarding and engage the Friend of United Way affinity group and convening a minimum of 2 events yearly.
· Design and implement Fiscal and Year End fundraising strategy to include social media engagement and outreach with the Marketing team.
· Creating and or coordinating meaningful volunteer engagement opportunities and successfully moving donors into year-found engagement and philanthropy.
· Document all donor interactions and next steps in the CRM (Andar)
Workplace Campaign Support
· Partnering with Workplace Campaign team members to identify leadership giving opportunities within employee workplace giving campaigns.
· Participating in Workplace campaign events and presentations
· Assisting in transition of workplace donors into long-term individual donors
Miscellaneous - 10%
- Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent presentation and relationship building skills coupled with the ability to communicate well in a variety of settings with a variety of stakeholders, public speaking.

- Supports and attends UWCCR and community events. Evenings, early mornings and weekends when required.
- Supports volunteer engagement initiatives and opportunities for current and potential donors.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships and communication with other departments.
- Takes initiative and sees tasks through with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of and ability to regularly access reporting and utilize research.
- Actively engage in business networking opportunities as appropriate.
- Promote established organization values among internal and external UWCCR constituents.
- Provide excellent customer service with efficiency and responsiveness
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other visual communication platforms.
- Ability to utilize social media as a tool for marketing and communication.
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in these or related fields such as sales, ideally with 2-3 years of experience fundraising.
- Experience developing and implementing successful fundraising initiatives.
- Experience with account or client management.
- Experience working directly with donors on fundraising efforts
· Familiarity with donor CRM’s, Andar (proprietary) Salesforce, Blackbaud or similar platforms
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
· Extensive oral communication with coworkers, potential donors, media and the public in settings ranging from one-on-one to large groups including formal and informal presentations, training sessions and question and answer sessions, and by telephone.
· Work in an office environment, lift and move objects up to 51 pounds, such as large binders, books, boxes, and small office equipment. If over 51 pounds, assistance will be provided.
· Have sufficient finger/hand coordination and dexterity to operate and adjust office equipment such as telephone, computer, and calculator.
· Sit at a desk for long periods of time.
· Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
· React quickly under high pressure settings.
· Willingness to travel locally and overnight via plane, train or private vehicle.
· Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
· Ability to maintain a polished professional appearance.
· Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, cold, heat.
· Constant public contact.
· Constant decision making and concentration.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· Possession of an appropriate California operator’s license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, and adequate automobile insurance; possession and maintenance of a good driving record (as evidenced by freedom from multiple or serious traffic violation for at least a two-year duration) that does not contribute to an increase in UWCCR insurance rates.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
