The Sr. Director, Individual Giving is accountable for the development, planning, and implementation of innovative fundraising strategies for all individual giving, including Annual Fund, the mid-level and major giving programs of United Way, the Million Dollar Round Table, United Way Champions, and Planned Giving. REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood Initiatives 
 
PURPOSE: The Parent Educator plays a vital role in advancing United Way of 

El Paso County’s mission, vision, and Education Community Impact 
goals by delivering effective family home visitation programs. This 
position is responsible for implementing the Parents as Teachers 
evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework—
supporting strong communities, thriving families, and children who 
are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. 

 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES 
The role of the Parent Educator is to will deliver the evidence-based Parents as 
Teachers (PAT) curriculum to families through regular in-home visits. The Parent 
Educator will support parents in fostering their child’s development, conduct 
assessments, connect families with resources, and build strong relationships within the 
community. 
 
Responsibilities: 

ï· Conduct 30–40 home visits per month to families with young children; 

ï· Use the PAT curriculum to promote child development, school readiness, and 
parenting support; 

ï· Facilitate family group sessions and community-based events; 

ï· Conduct developmental screenings and family assessments; 

ï· Maintain accurate and timely records in Visit Tracker (PAT) database; 

ï· Recruit new families through outreach and community presentations; 

ï· Participate in ongoing professional development (minimum 20 hours/year); 

ï· Collaborate with community partners and other United Way programs. 
 

Administrative Compliance for Parents as Teachers: 

ï· Enter and maintain up-to-date client data in electronic system: Visit Tracker

Purpose: This role supports community members through direct service,

Resource Navigation

• Provide referrals and connect individuals to relevant services, ensuring warm
