The Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement will steer the strategic vision for volunteer engagement across the United Way organization, modernize technology and processes to increase and align community and corporate volunteer engagement efforts, and build stronger community relationships.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Strategic Volunteer Engagement
<ul><li>Continuously assess volunteer needs with internal and external partners. Prioritize needs based on ability to scale and design experiences that will engage volunteers to meet these needs.</li>
<li>Work closely with Resource Development and Corporate Engagement team to promote and execute Fee for Service/Revenue Generation model based on custom volunteer experiences.</li>
<li>Lead volunteer engagement strategies and multi-year plans for existing and potential top corporate supporters.</li>
<li>Plan and execute multiple annual signature community volunteer initiatives that support United Way’s work, including building strategic communication and recruitment plans to meet volunteer goals. Volunteer initiatives must meet United Way criteria: leadership, alignment, measurable impact, logistical support, United Way messaging, recognition, feedback, and data capture.</li>
<li>Continuously increase and adapt knowledge of community challenges and opportunities, and United Way work to illustrate the organization’s mission through volunteer engagement experiences.</li>
</ul>Modernize Technology and Data Management
<ul><li>Serve as team liaison for the Accountability and Technology Steering Committee. Ensure team needs are represented and included in decision making processes.</li>
<li>Champion organizational technology advances: ensure team tracks all relevant data consistently and cleanly using tools and programs available.</li>
<li>Continuously assess team specific technology platforms, lead change management processes for any new technology adoption.</li>
<li>Responsible for leading annual reporting to United Way Worldwide, IRS, and other entities requiring volunteer engagement data.</li>
<li>Oversee Volunteer Management Platform (VolunteerMatch), update listings for internal and external partners, ensure current or priority listings are featured.</li>
</ul>Relationship Management
<ul><li>Establish and deepen volunteer and community relationships through 1:1 internal and external meetings that serve to enhance engagement in and support of United Way’s work.</li>
<li>Develop a diverse pool of individual volunteers; collaborate with Major Gift Officers and Individual Engagement team members to identify volunteers and engage them in meaningful opportunities.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Resource Development, Community Impact, Community Connections, and other internal teams to develop holistic volunteer and community engagement plans.</li>
<li>Serve as an ambassador for United Way during community and corporate volunteer engagement events. Frequent public speaking is expected.</li>
<li>Lead recruitment of internal volunteers for organizational community engagement events. Ensure United Way has a strong, organized, and reliable presence in the community.</li>
</ul>Leadership and Team Management
<ul><li>Lead a team of volunteer engagement professionals. Build capacity and identify synergies between volunteer and community efforts.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Provide ongoing coaching and training for Volunteer Connection team members; train cross-functional team members as needed on new volunteer products, services, and programs.</li>
<li>Develop metrics and strategic plans for meeting annual and long-term goals.</li>
<li>Develop and manage corporate and community engagement budget.</li>
<li>Ensure compliance with policies and procedures.</li>
</ul>Minimum Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Minimum 5-10 years of relevant professional work experience (ex. Project management, customer service, social sector, volunteer management, etc.)</li>

IT Project Manager

The 211 Care Coordinator assists residents in connecting to social service support by assessing needs and making referrals within a network of partnering organizations. The Care Coordinator will provide a broad-based human services needs assessment; make referrals within the referral platform; collect and record appropriate data on referrals; and follow up to ensure referrals are utilized and complete. The Care Coordination function is flexible and responsive to changing community needs. Referrals will be made primarily through a technology platform. The Care Coordinator is responsible for tracking when partners accept or decline referrals, when agencies contact residents, and when services are provided. The Care Coordinator will be a diligent advocate, connecting County residents with organizations to meet their needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>

Overall Purpose of this Role: The Project Manager is responsible for implementing processes, coordinating internal donor relations activities and maintaining data integrity in support of departmental efforts. United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a&nbsp;Senior Director, Major Giftsto join our team. As&nbsp;Senior Director, Major Giftsyou will Develop and build relationships in the community to address the health and human service needs of the community through United Way Miami. &nbsp;Focus on fundraising for both annual and Endowment campaigns from individuals who can make gifts of $100,000 or more.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Ensures that all Tocqueville Society gifts are accounted for during the fiscal year.</li>
<li>Manages relationships with approximately 100-125 prospective and current donors who can make major/planned gifts of $100,000 or more. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward same.
<ul><li>Participates in all aspects of the gift cycle: 
				&nbsp;- Initiate contacts with potential leadership and major gift donors 
				&nbsp;- Develop appropriate cultivation strategies for them, including working with volunteers 
				&nbsp;- Moves potential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closure 
				&nbsp;- Makes solicitations when appropriate 
				&nbsp;- Maintains stewardship contacts with donors; adheres to the highest ethical standards; demonstrates empathetic disposition, and perseverance; reflects optimistic and positive attitude, and conveys sensitivity to the needs of the donors</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Participates in 15-20 donor meetings a month.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Works collaboratively with and in support of volunteers, other development staff, and other United Way staff to achieve the needs of the prospects.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Participates in prospect management meetings to ensure coordination of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Attends United Way events as well as outside events for United Way representation, networking, etc.</li>
<li>Responsible for soliciting gifts of $100,000 and higher from individuals&nbsp;</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Development Officers to identify major and planned gift prospects within an account to create, cultivate, and solicit donors.</li>
</ul>&nbsp;Education Requirements:&nbsp; Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred.&nbsp;
&nbsp;Experience Requirements:&nbsp; Five years of experience in individual fundraising with a track record of closing major gifts in education, the human services area preferred.
&nbsp;Technology Requirements:&nbsp;Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Outlook, Andar (database) and Takes the responsibility to learn &amp; use technology to increase one’s own productivity and keep technical skills up to date. &nbsp; Maintains accurate and current data files.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills:&nbsp;Public speaking, understanding of people, ability to adapt to changing situations, ability to understand and analyze industry trends, sales ability, computer skills, basic math skills, and negotiation skills. &nbsp;The Spanish language is not a requirement but helpful.
