Operations Associate (GGRF)

POSITION SUMMARY:(Eligible for Hybrid/ 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)&nbsp;The Senior Director of State Policy and Advocacy will be responsible for leading United Way Worldwide’s support of state-specific policy advocacy efforts and providing technical assistance and training to strengthen local United Ways in developing and implementing policy and advocacy strategies. The successful candidate will work across United Way’s impact pillars that guide the organization’s policy priorities: Healthy Communities, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency. They will&nbsp;serve as the key point of coordination for the network’s policy-advocacy capacity building efforts at the state and local levels, including national trainings, coordination with state associations and local United Ways on their advocacy initiatives, capacity building, support for elected official engagement, virtual conferences and fly-ins for local United Way staff and board members.&nbsp;The Senior Director of State Policy and Advocacy will also be responsible for managing or supporting substantive public policy issues, leading cohorts of state and local United Ways to engage in issue advocacy, facilitating best practice sharing for securing state government funding, designing and facilitating trainings for state and local United Ways, and managing partnerships with coalitions and advocacy organizations.&nbsp;Candidates will be expected to have significant experience leading and executing trainings and policy events, including developing agendas, coordinating speaker outreach, supporting engagements with elected officials, creating materials, and managing logistics. You will also be expected to have some working knowledge of&nbsp;&nbsp;the following policy areas: Healthy Communities, Youth Opportunity, Financial Security, and Community Resiliency, along with strong communications and public speaking skills, project management skills, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to set vision and direction for United Way Worldwide’s support of state and local policy efforts. Duties also include producing webinars and developing how-to guides and resources. &nbsp;You will report to the Senior Vice President of Public Policy and will work collaboratively on a daily basis with other members of the Global Network Advancement Team, in addition to other departments at United Way Worldwide. In your role as Senior Director of State Policy and Advocacy, you will advise and support execution of departmental goals, strategy, operations and budget. Job Summary
The 211 Program Manager will ensure operational excellence of the 211 social services helpline and its related services. Key Responsibilities:
<ul><li>Work with leadership to develop and implement an annual grants strategy to secure new and maintain renewable grant funding</li>
<li>Research and identify grant opportunities that align with UWBB’s mission, initiatives and impact programs</li>
<li>Conduct the full range of activities required to prepare and submit timely and compelling grant proposals/applications</li>
<li>Perform continuous grant oversight, monitoring, reporting and compliance</li>
<li>Work with Finance Team to track and report annual grant revenue on a timely basis</li>
<li>Assist Finance Team with grant financial reporting as needed for audit inquiries</li>
<li>Work closely with Community Impact staff to ensure the collection of relevant outcome data and development and measurement of performance objectives</li>
<li>Serve as primary contact for all grantors</li>
<li>Coordinate with Communications team to ensure proper recognition of grantors as applicable</li>

Public Policy and Advocacy Manager

The Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement will steer the strategic vision for volunteer engagement across the United Way organization, modernize technology and processes to increase and align community and corporate volunteer engagement efforts, and build stronger community relationships.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Strategic Volunteer Engagement
<ul><li>Continuously assess volunteer needs with internal and external partners. Prioritize needs based on ability to scale and design experiences that will engage volunteers to meet these needs.</li>
<li>Work closely with Resource Development and Corporate Engagement team to promote and execute Fee for Service/Revenue Generation model based on custom volunteer experiences.</li>

</ul>Modernize Technology and Data Management

</ul>Leadership and Team Management

<li>Provide ongoing coaching and training for Volunteer Connection team members; train cross-functional team members as needed on new volunteer products, services, and programs.</li>

</ul>Minimum Qualifications:

Senior Manager, Volunteer and Community Engagement

The 211 Care Coordinator assists residents in connecting to social service support by assessing needs and making referrals within a network of partnering organizations. The Care Coordinator will provide a broad-based human services needs assessment; make referrals within the referral platform; collect and record appropriate data on referrals; and follow up to ensure referrals are utilized and complete. The Care Coordination function is flexible and responsive to changing community needs. As such, the Coordinator’s focus may change to meet new external and United Way opportunities, initiatives, and programs to support community members.

<ul><li>Assist community members by assessing needs in a compassionate method and providing referrals for immediate and intermediate needs through a network of key community partners. Referrals will be made primarily through a technology platform. The Care Coordinator is responsible for tracking when partners accept or decline referrals, when agencies contact residents, and when services are provided.
