Position Summary 
The Community Investments Manager supports the Community Foundation and United Way of Volusia-
Flagler Counties’ (CF UWVFC) strategic investment efforts. The goal of this position is to support the 
organization’s ability to drive positive change by strategic investments in the community through 
grantmaking and grant management. United Way professionals should exhibit core competencies: 
mission-focused, relationship-oriented, collaborator, results-driven and brand-steward. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
Business Acumen &amp; Strategic Direction 

 • Write, and manage grant opportunities that align with the CF UWVFC’s strategic 
investment goals. 

 • Prepare and submit reporting for grants and contracts as required. 
 • Share internal reporting to inform and communicate impact of investments. 
 • Steward non-profits through grant application, award process, and follow up reporting in 

CRM system. 
 • Oversee 2-1-1 database including updates and referrals including Publix Emergency Fund. 
 • Management of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program to include 

communications with Internal Revenue Service, Site Coordinators and volunteers and 
budget management. 

Outward Turning 
 • Maintain strong relationships with non-profits, funding agencies and partners. 

 
Talent Management &amp; People Development 

 • Receive and provide feedback in a constructive way. 
 
Operational Planning &amp; Execution 

 • Support events as needed.

 • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR four years of relevant work experience. 
 • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate the key stakeholders,

 • Excellent computer skills (minimum of Microsoft software programs) and attention to

Working Conditions &amp; Physical Requirements 
Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office

This position is a hybrid role that requires a minimum of two days per week in the office located in Orlando, FL.&nbsp; Overall Purpose of this Role: Works under the supervision of the Senior Vice President of Communications &amp; External Relations to direct the strategic planning, execution and implementation of HFUW’s integrated marketing plan. This role will manage the day-to-day operations of the marketing &amp; communications team and lead content creation, including but not limited to social media content, marketing copy, e-newsletters, talking points, etc. This role utilizes best-practice methods for leveraging all communication channels (internal and external) to develop strategic content, employing social listening and media monitoring, and tracking and analyzing results. As direct supervisor to the marketing team, the Director will oversee the coordination, development and production of all marketing &amp; communications projects. This position will oversee the flow and timely completion of projects, facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and communication, and maintain consistency with HFUW branding and graphic standards. POSITION SUMMARY Provide individuals with suicide intervention, safety planning, crisis de-escalation, problem solving, brief assessment and appropriate social service referrals within a contact center environment.
