The Manager, Social Media leads the growth of United Way Suncoast’s organic and paid social media marketing programs across UWS’s social media channels. The Manager collaborates cross-functionally to drive brand awareness, extend United Way Suncoast’s reach, and strengthen our defining message to the community.

Objectives:

  • Manages strategy for organic and paid marketing program across targeted social media channels. Creates thematic social media campaigns that highlight team and board members.
  • Develops a social media plan that aligns with UWS’ marketing plan. Produces and maintains social media content engagement plans consistent with UWS’s brand identity and manages a high volume of daily social media posts. Collaborates cross-functionally to advise and align social media goals.
  • Creates consistent, meaningful written and graphic content on social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, collaborating to create custom graphic content, improving customer engagement, and promoting strategic community partners and collaborative efforts.
  • Uses analytical tools to monitor and evaluate UWS’s social media presence and performance.
  • Analyzes social media performance using platform analytics and other relevant data to identify audience behaviors, content trends, opportunities and areas for improvement. Translates data into actionable insights and recommendations that inform content strategy, channel strategy, campaign development and resource allocation.
  • Monitors and responds to consumer comments, questions, and requests on social media; refers consumers to appropriate resources or teams for assistance.
  • Builds relationships with program teams, partners, volunteers, donors and community members to identify opportunities for authentic social content. Attends events and program activities as appropriate to capture photography, video and other content that demonstrates UWS impact.
  • Provides project support as needed including graphic design tasks for print and digital requests, as well as assisting in the creation of other digital assets. Supports the development, production and distribution of UWS newsletters and other email communications, including content development, building and scheduling.
  • Maintains current knowledge of social media platforms, emerging trends, audience behaviors, content formats, algorithms, paid and organic strategies and industry best practices. Proactively identifies and recommends emerging opportunities that can strengthen UWS's social presence and achieve organizational goals.
  • Manages relationships with tech vendors and serves as point of contact for platform questions.
  • May contribute to budgets and forecasting; effectively manages resources.
  • May train or mentor specialists, interns, or volunteers.
  • Develops and refines processes to improve efficiency and achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Consistently demonstrates Our Suncoast Code and Values including applicable elements of leading self, team, and organization.

Qualifications & Skills for Success:

  • Typically requires four (4) or more years of relevant experience, including management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; equivalent training or experience may be accepted in lieu.
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to work and drive in the field within the Suncoast region.
  • Bilingual or multilingual (English/Spanish/Creole) a plus.
