Budgeted Salary Range:
$170,000-$175,000 annually, based on a 37.5-hour work week, dependent on background and experience.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Direct the organization's financial planning and accounting practices. Build positive and productive relationships with co-workers, donors, volunteers, agencies, banks, brokerage firms, and other customers and vendors. Direct and oversee finance, general accounting and donor services / pledge processing functions, including supervision of assigned staff. Direct and oversee accounting, pledge processing and financial reporting for all contracted organizations.
• Oversee and direct the funds, financial records, accounting,
budgets, annual audit, tax return filings, purchasing and pledge processing activities for the organization.
• Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the President & CEO, Vice President/Chief People & Equity Officer and other Leadership Team members informed of all critical issues.
• Serve as management liaison to Finance and Audit Board-level
committees. Present and discuss financial reports at Finance and Audit Committee meetings, present to Board of Trustees as needed.
• Direct the Controller, Campaign Accounting Manager and other Finance team members in implementing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate internal accounting controls and services.
• Direct the financial activities of the organization. Act as the custodian
of funds, monitor securities and assets of the organization. Direct investment of excess cash and restricted reserves.
• Review the organization's financial position and issue monthly financial and operating reports to Finance Committee and quarterly financial reports to the Board.

• Support President and Leadership Team in directing, coordinating and preparing the organization's budget and campaign spending plan for approval by Finance Committee and Board.
• Analyze, consolidate, and direct accounting and pledge processing procedures together with other statistical and routine reports to record and distribute all combined campaign donations for public sector employees.
• Direct, analyze and interpret reports of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization's
policies and operations.
• Collaborate with the Resource Development team to prepare and submit all required reports to United Way Worldwide (UWW). Manage unemployment compensation programs of organizations with support from the Payroll Specialist.
• Work with CPA firm on annual audit, responsible for internal control procedures necessary to obtain clean audit opinion and
management report from auditors. Coordinate presentation and acceptance of annual audit report and IRS Form 990 to Audit Committee and Board.
• Review contracts and other formal documents prior to execution, obtaining professional legal counsel where necessary.
• Provide support for campaign reporting and goalsetting processes, including discretionary funds reporting.
• Coordinate and prepare the organization's budget and campaign spending plan for approval by the Finance Committee and Board.
• Serve as the key Finance representative providing support to Success by Third
Grade task force, to include budget projections, grant reporting, etc.
• Serves as Chief Financial Officer for contracted United Ways and other
external clients. Prepare and present financial statements, cash flow analyses
and ad hoc reports for respective finance committee and Board of Trustees
meetings.
• Collaborate with staff in all departments, as well as donors, volunteers,
vendors, agencies and independent auditors.
• In collaboration with the President & CEO, oversee and execute assigned
projects and initiatives.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Expected Work Hours:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week. Flexible daily hours may be available year-round. Daily work schedule and any flextime
hours must be approved by the department head.
Travel: No regular travel is expected for this position, with the exception of occasional offsite training and conferences for professional development.
Education and Experience:
• A bachelor's degree and minimum of ten (10) years of accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting, Federal and State regulation
requirements is necessary, along with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Prior management experience required.
