POSITION SUMMARY
Serves as the Chief Financial Officer’s senior execution partner, leading the implementation and integration of assigned priorities across the Business Operations portfolio. The position translates approved strategies into actionable workplans, leads complex cross-functional initiatives, establishes accountability, removes barriers to execution, and drives measurable results while functional leaders retain responsibility for their departmental strategies, technical decisions, staff, and day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

  • Serve as the Chief Financial Officer’s senior execution partner, translating approved Business Operations strategies and priorities into actionable workplans and measurable results.
  • Exercise delegated authority to direct assigned work, make decisions, resolve barriers, and escalate matters requiring executive action.
  • Lead assigned cross-functional Business Operations initiatives from planning through implementation, establishing accountability for deliverables, milestones, decisions, risks, and outcomes.
  • Lead coordination of participating functions while respecting functional leaders’ authority over departmental strategy, technical decisions, staff, and day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain an integrated view of Business Operations priorities, including schedules, resources, interdependencies, risks, and competing demands.
  • Lead the Business Operations operating cadence, including leadership meetings, project reviews, decision tracking, and executive follow-up.
  • Prepare executive-level workplans, dashboards, analyses, status reports, recommendations, and decision materials for executive leadership, Board committees, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of the Business Operations service partnership model, including request tracking, service standards, performance measures, and internal customer feedback.
  • Partner on the integration and improvement of the organization’s grants lifecycle processes with participating functions.
  • Partner on the coordination of assigned technology and business-systems modernization initiatives with Technology and functional leaders responsible for technical requirements, security, and departmental implementation.
  • Support implementation of governance, risk, and compliance priorities by strengthening cross-functional coordination, work planning, accountability, and follow-through, while functional leadership retains responsibility for compliance strategy, technical requirements, and ongoing program administration.
  • Support facilities and real estate initiatives through work planning, coordination, document management, milestone tracking, and stakeholder follow-up under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Manage consultants, vendors, and professional partners supporting assigned initiatives, including scope, deliverables, performance, timelines, and issue resolution.
  • Evaluate Business Operations processes, structures, and systems and implement or recommend improvements that strengthen coordination, accountability, efficiency, and stewardship.
  • Ensure appropriate coaching, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities are provided to direct reports to ensure optimal staff and client service.
  • Ensure adherence to all organizational policies and procedures, staying informed about updates, and promoting compliance within the team.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, FIPA, PHI, PII requirements.
  • Identified as essential, requiring prompt and effective action during critical situations to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
  • Contribute to overall organizational success by performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Job requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration, organizational leadership, project management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in business operations, strategic execution, transformation, project or portfolio leadership, management consulting, or a comparable field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from planning through implementation.
  • Experience exercising delegated authority, resolving barriers, and making or recommending executive-level decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and establish accountability without direct reporting authority.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent priorities, interdependencies, risks, resources, and deadlines.
  • Experience preparing and presenting executive- and Board-level analyses, recommendations, dashboards, status reports, and decision materials.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and adoption.
    Demonstrated ability to create structure, clarity, and forward movement in complex or ambiguous environments.
  • Experience supervising and developing professional staff.
  • Experience managing consultants, vendors, or other professional partners.
  • Experience with facilities, real estate, technology modernization, grants administration, governance, risk, compliance, or related organizational initiatives preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using project-management, collaboration, reporting, and document-management systems.
  • Strong project management skills with expertise in planning, organizing, and executing initiatives from concept to completion.

Salary range

  • From $165,000 per year
