Senior Grants Manager
Position Summary
The Senior Grants Manager manages Community Foundation and United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties’ (CF UWVFC) strategic investment efforts. The goal of this position is to increase the organization’s ability to drive positive change by strategic investments in the community through grantmaking and grant management. United Way professionals should exhibit core competencies: mission-focused, relationship-oriented, collaborator, results-driven and brand-steward.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Acumen & Strategic Direction
- Participate in community and business environment by serving in civic groups, on committees, and in groups that will advance the mission of CF UWVFC.
- Contribute to the growth and development of organizational resources and capacity.
- Ensure alignment of internal initiatives with strategic direction.
- Manage contracts, grant agreements and budgets.
- Steward non-profits through grant application and award process.
- Oversee 2-1-1 database, referrals and subcontract.
- Develop and direct the management of the VITA Program.
Outward Turning
- Develop strong relationships with non-profits and attend events.
- Build non-profit partnerships to distribute endowment funds to positively impact the community.
- Identify, write, and manage grants and sponsorship opportunities that align with the CF UWVFC’s strategic investment goals.
Talent Management & People Development
- Manage and coordinate all efforts of the Coordinator and volunteers including: assign and monitor all job responsibilities, maintain positive staff relations, conflict resolution, and ensure the organizational resources are used to their maximum potential.
- Receive and provide feedback in a constructive way.
Operational Planning & Execution
- Plan and support events as needed.
- Assist the Vice President of Operations with strategic planning and execution of the annual goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR four years of relevant work experience.
- Team player with the ability to work with CF UWVFC senior management to achieve organizational goals.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate the key stakeholders, peers and staff.
- High degree of professional integrity to deal ethically with confidential information.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Excellent computer skills (minimum of Microsoft software programs).
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of insured motor vehicle.
Preferred
- Grant writing and grant and contract management experience.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office conditions. Employees may be required to assist with or attend various offsite events related to programs or fund raising that are scheduled evenings and/or weekends. These events may require several hours on your feet and assisting with heavy lifting and carrying.
