The Preschool Promise Project Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of marketing/recruitment, eligibility determination, selection, and placement of children into Preschool Promise programs throughout Lane County, through working closely with families, providers, and community partners.

This position reports to the Co-Director of Education and works with all UWLC staff, particularly resource development, operations, and marketing & communications; businesses; donors; nonprofit agency partners; community service groups; government agencies. This position is connected to and engaged with peer local United Ways and United Way Worldwide colleagues for continuous learning, growth and consideration of new ideas.

To excel in this position, the successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excelling in this position also requires thriving in a fast-paced environment with complex workflows. The ideal candidate will bring proven experience in supervising and mentoring team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment, and providing clear guidance to ensure direct reports achieve their full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level, with or without accommodation:

  • Ground coordinated enrollment and community building efforts in anti-racism, addressing systemic oppression, equity, wealth disparity, intersectionality, and other areas important to social justice. Engage with United Way's internal Equity Advisory Council.
  • Communicate with all families and partners using trauma informed practices and high degree of customer service.
  • Supervise the Preschool Promise team, train in new procedures, assign projects and manage completion of work.
  • Manage and facilitate all Preschool Promise projects related to the team's role in marketing/outreach, eligibility determination of families, and enrollment into Preschool Promise; includes skill in project management, delegation of work to supervisees and colleagues, monitoring projects, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Develop and foster positive, strategic relationships with external partner organizations, including Preschool Promise providers, the Department of Early Learning and Care, Quality Care Connections, Oregon Department of Human Services, Head Start of Lane County, Relief Nursery, and Early Childhood CARES.
  • Develop and deepen relationships with community partners and families to better understand the needs and circumstances of the region's priority populations; lead planning of recruitment and engagement strategies that promote inclusion and improve access; coordinate outreach/recruitment efforts with partners to reach priority populations
  • Approach complex publicly funded early learning eco-system challenges from a systems-level perspective and suggest solutions that benefit priority populations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

  • Grade 1: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum three (3) years related working experience, ideally in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Marketing, Program Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or another related field.

OR

  • Five (5) years related working experience, ideally in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Marketing, Program Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or another related field.
  • Grade 2: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum five (5) years working experience, ideally in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Marketing, Program Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or another related field.

OR

  • Seven (7) years related working experience, ideally in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Marketing, Program Management, Business Administration, Project Management, or another related field.

Additional Requirements for Grades 1 and 2 include:

  • Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience including selection, hiring, evaluations, training, and performance management
  • Bilingual, bicultural in Spanish and English highly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

SALARY STATEMENT

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $51,786 to $74,572 per year, depending upon the grade level. Proffered salaries are determined by several factors including applicant's knowledge, ­­­skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
