Position description
The Community Impact and Engagement Manager reports to the Director of Community Engagement; is results-oriented and detail focused. The Manager provides day to day supervision of the Community Engagement Coordinator; has a wide range of responsibilities that support United Way's mission through activities and efforts related to fundraising and community impact and engagement including the community impact grant process, volunteer management, and program delivery. The Manager is an engaged team member who actively pursues individual and shared fundraising goals. Key performance indicators and goals will be set each year in partnership with the Director and CEO. The summary of the manager's job includes the following. • Provide support to the community impact & investment committee and all sub-groups.
• Manage the annual community impact grant funding cycle and process.
• Serve as the liaison to community nonprofits.
• Actively assist with the Quality Improvement Program (QIP) to include agency capacity training, best practices, professional development, and other needs as identified by the Director.
• Track resource availability and gap in services through the United Way service area using 211 and other sources. Assist in identifying and developing programs and services to improve delivery of services.
• Serve as team lead for disaster recovery and support the Baytown Area & Chambers County Disaster Recovery group (BACC-DR).
• Collect monthly and quarter reports documenting progress of all community impact and engagement efforts and internal programs.
• Assist in the development and distribution of the quarterly report to donors.
• Evaluate and make recommendations to improve and enhance all internal programs, volunteer opportunities and community impact and engagement activities.
• Assist with the development of community impact marketing materials and communications.
• Actively assist with the development, implementation and reporting on a variety community surveys, community conversations and Vision Councils.
• Track and implement relevant policies related to volunteers and volunteer projects.
• Lead the planning and implementation of annual volunteer appreciation activities for National Volunteer Month in April.
• Lead the planning and implementation of the annual Day of Caring initiative, including providing support to the steering committee.
• Assist the resource development team to secure service related sponsorships; assist with grant research in support of programs and projects; assist in developing case statements; and submitting applications; and manage program and service grant awards received in support of United Way’s work.
• Serve as a UWGBACC representative and ambassador, conveying the needs of the community to encourage individual contributions, advocacy, community and volunteer involvement.
• Arrange agency speakers and materials to support UWGBACC’s messaging during campaign presentations.
• Support the organization’s efforts to provide up-to-date and engaging social media posts and website pages and to create inspiring marketing materials.
• Other duties as needed to ensure communication tools are consistent and successfully enhance the organization’s reputation.
The manager is expected to perform all duties in accordance with United Way of Greater Baytown Area & Chambers County policies and procedures and will be given other duties not listed in the overview of the main job responsibilities.
