JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Accountability & Standards Review provides primary ownership and strategic leadership of the Standards Review process, ensuring that agencies receiving United Way investments demonstrate sound governance, fiscal integrity, and programmatic effectiveness. Provides full lifecycle ownership of the Standards Review process, from design and timeline development through evaluation, documentation, and funding communication.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Ownership and execution of United Way’s agency-level standards review process
• Works with agency personnel to ensure that e-CImpact, the platform used during the standards review process, meets agency reporting needs and adequately provides information needed to United Way for the accountability process
• Works with any software vendors whose products are used to facilitate the Standards Review process to meet the emerging needs of agencies and volunteers, as needed.
• Working with Senior Department Leadership directs the development and deployment of the online tool(s) utilized for the annual Standards Review process to ensure that agencies receiving United Way investments are sound in governance, finance, and performance of programs
• Develops and maintains relationships with individuals and organizations involved in volunteering during the Standards Review process
• Develops training modules and conducts training of agency personnel, volunteers, and staff on usage of platform used during standards review process, currently e-CImpact
• Develops customized reports as needed for agencies and volunteers based on data in the grants management platform
• Maintains a high level of security and confidentiality of all agency documents and files
• Routinely evaluates current Standards Review process and tools, then suggests and implements improvements.
• Creates , maintains executes documentation and training materials on Standards Review processes and platforms
• The execution of the standards review process includes the following recurring responsibilities:
• Recruit, contact, and confirm potential and returning volunteers and manage ongoing relationships
• Develop and build tailored evaluation forms for local, national, and military agencies
• Evaluate and refine the Standards Review methodology to ensure continuous process improvement, strengthen analytical rigor, and enhance the accuracy, clarity, and overall effectiveness of review reports.
• Independently initiates and manages all agency communications related to the Standards Review process, including formal notifications, milestone reminders, and follow-up, ensuring timely and complete submission of required documentation without the need for direction or prompting.
• Build and maintain volunteer recruitment and training roster
• Assist agencies and volunteers with access and navigation of grants management platform
• Schedule and conduct training sessions for agencies and volunteers
• Conduct one-on-one training as needed/requested
• Orients all affected agencies to applicable processes and evaluations
• Ensures all agency materials are complete and compliant with Standards Review requirements, initiating direct follow-up with agency leadership to address gaps and secure outstanding information
• Provides coaching and assistance in closing identified gaps
• Coordinates and schedules all agencies for site visits then ensures volunteer attendance is with in established minimum attendance numbers and UW staff coverage is available.
• Attend site visits as required and assist volunteers conduct thorough and accurate reviews.
• Identify problematic trends in agencies and develop indirect means of addressing as possible.
• Compile, disaggregate, and distribute volunteer review comments to team leads and division chairs and follow-up as required.
• Coordinate with United Way staff to complete internal components of standards review score card
• Finalize scorecard, review for accuracy and completeness then post to compliance in e-CImpact for all agencies
• Monitors and reviews quarterly reporting requirements as required
• Serves as secondary administrator for the grants management (currently e-CImpact) platform
• Steward of partner agency historical documents and forms in e-CImpact
• Assists Resource Development in the monitoring and tracking of SAMA and SEC applications for completeness. )
• Responsible for the drafting, populating and accuracy of annual funding letters sent to the agencies.
• Keeps supervisor apprised all issues, concerns, status and progress related to the Standards Review Process
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree – required / master’s degree – preferred in a related field of study.
• Three or more years’ experience.
• Experience in an internal audit function recommended
• Experience in the operation of non-profits
• Experience staffing a broad cross-section of volunteer leaders and/or non-profit partners.
• Experience communicating with senior leaders both internally and externally to the organization.
• Experience in working effectively in multicultural environments.
• Strong relationships in the nonprofit, public and private sectors.
• Staff and volunteer management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES INFORMATION
• Ability to understand and interpret audited financial statements and Form 990s
• Working knowledge of grants management systems (e.g. e-CImpact, Foundant, Fluxx, or similar)
• Management of process integrity and attention to detail
• Knowledge of the nonprofit arena and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, community partners, donors and volunteers.
• Ability to identify and build opportunities and assist in educating and mobilizing networks of individuals, associations, agencies and institutions to support UWSA’s impact agenda.
