United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Employment Services Navigator to join our team. As  Employment Services Navigator at United Way Miami you will provide administrative coordination and support to help transitioning active and former military service members, veterans, and their spouses access employment opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with employers, Career Source Miami, and veteran-focused services, while staying informed about the local job market.
  • Develop lists of supportive services, including training programs and apprenticeships, and make referrals to veteran services as needed.
  • Provide direct support for resume writing workshops and one-on-one assistance, organizing resources and helping clients craft effective resumes. 
  • Support interview preparation workshops, providing resources, and coordinating mock interviews. Assist in identifying job placement opportunities and organizing employment-related events and workshops.
  • Assist clients in setting realistic employment goals, monitoring their progress, and resolving issues in coordination with the MU team.
  • Assist clients in translating military skills to civilian job qualifications by organizing workshops and providing resources. Collaborate with the MISSION UNITED Employment Committee on peer mentoring and Transition Assistance Programs (TAPs).
  • Input and maintain client information in tracking systems, documenting activities, and preparing reports. Participate in training and special projects as required

Requirements

Education Requirements: Associate degree or equivalent experience.

Experience Requirements: One to three years of work experience in corporate or agency recruitment and selection; military experience/veteran cultural competency highly preferred; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.

Technology Requirements: Advanced Outlook, intermediate Microsoft Office suite, and Andar/SalesForce database. Knowledge of modern web browsers.

Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Strong customer service and empathy skills are required. Ability to function in a team environment. The Spanish language is not a requirement but helpful.
