
Development Manager
Position Summary: To support the Vice President of Development in all areas related to implementing and supporting the fund development initiatives and goals for Community Foundation & United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties (CF/UWVFC.) To provide a leadership role in the management of resource development activities in order to achieve individual, department and company goals. CF/UWVFC professionals should exhibit core competencies: mission-focused, relationship-oriented, collaborator, results-driven, and brand-steward.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drives Revenue & Impact
· Manage $1.5 million annual campaign to achieve CF/UWVFC goals.
· Be engaged and cultivate relationships to identify qualified donor leads that enhance and support CF/UWVFC goals.
· Maintain accurate information with third party platforms such as Candid, Charity Navigator, Benevity, YourCause, etc.
· Serve as Women United liaison, administering day-to-day activities.
Strategic Relationship Building
· Practice effective stewardship by thanking donors, informing them about the impact of their gifts, and keeping them apprised of progress on community investments
· Utilize the CRMs to record and track all donor engagement.
· Inspire commitment and support by connecting donors and prospects to their areas of interests within CF/UWVFC.
· Support CF/UWVFC events as requested, such as A Celebration of Philanthropy, Power of the Purse, Annual Impact Celebration, etc.
· Work effectively with other departments to achieve CF/UWVFC goals.
Effective & Engaging Communicator
· With maturity and professionalism, present the CF/UWVFC message to current and potential donors, verbally and written.
Embracing & Managing Change
· Effectively work with the Development Team and Women United volunteers to implement new and creative revenue strategies, which support CF/UWVFC goals.
Entrepreneurial & Innovative
· Collaborate with other United Ways and the local community to meet organizational goals through special events and affinity groups.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field or three year’s workplace experience preferred.
· Team player that embraces changing priorities to improve efficiencies throughout the organization.
· Administrative skills to support excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skills.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate with key stakeholders.
· High degree of professional integrity to deal ethically with confidential information.
· Professional and polished presentation to reflect on CF/UWVFC in a positive manner.
· Ability to work independently while also following instructions when applicable.
· Ability to multi-task while adhering to process and assignments from supervisor.
· Excellent computer skills (minimum of Microsoft software programs).
· Possess a valid driver’s license and have use of insured motor vehicle.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
This is a hybrid working environment and take home tasks will be negotiated. Employees may be required to assist with or attend various offsite events scheduled for evenings and/or weekends. These events may require several hours on your feet and assisting with heavy lifting and carrying, approximately 20-40 pounds.
