GENERAL JOB INFORMATION Title:&nbsp; Grants and Programs Accountant Reports To (Title):&nbsp;&nbsp;Chief Financial Officer Department:&nbsp; Finance Salary Range:&nbsp; $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 JOB SUMMARY The Grants and Programs Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of Trident United Way. The Grants and Programs Accountant, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, &nbsp;is responsible for grant accounting, billing, and analysis to ensure fiscal compliance of all grant-funded programs. RESPONSIBILITIES &nbsp;<ul><li>Maintains a working knowledge of grant regulations and relevant information, to include funding allocations, processes, laws, rules, and regulations; reads and reviews multiple publications and federal, state, and local guidelines to track changes and updates.</li><li>Maintains grant reporting system to ensure timely delivery of grant reports.</li><li>Coordinates with Finance department to establish, maintain, and finalize required fiscal procedures; monitors programs and fiscal aspects to meet grant requirements.</li><li>Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation, and audit of all grant programs.</li><li>Works with Director of Grants &amp; Programs on budget set-up and maintenance.</li><li>Works with representatives from funding agencies to establish reporting requirements and funding system requirements.</li><li>Generates monthly reports for use by grants administrators and grant project directors in monitoring grant activities.</li><li>Monitors monthly activity on all grants to ensure proper account coding and proper use of funds under grant terms.</li><li>Maintains grant archives, including contracts, amendments, and closeouts for use in official audit preparation.</li><li>Prepares monthly, quarterly, and closeout billings as needed for each grant using various defined formats by the funding agency while meeting required deadlines.</li><li>Responsible for expedient collection of all billed grant funds.</li><li>Prepares correcting journal entries needed to general ledger for proper grant maintenance.</li><li>Prepares audit work papers for independent audit.</li><li>Performs reconciliations of accounts receivable and other general ledger accounts.</li><li>Performs balancing of business office receipts and researches and corrects any errors.</li><li>Works with Director of Grants &amp; Programs to obtain supporting documentation required for invoice submissions.</li><li>Researches billing or expenditure discrepancies; generates reports from financial software.</li><li>Researches reporting and expenditure eligibility requirements for each granting agency as they apply to each grant received.</li><li>Provides assistance in developing and executing accounting principles and procedures.</li><li>Responds to inquiries from other employees and various regulatory agencies by phone or in writing.</li></ul> ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES &nbsp;<ul><li>Work closely with outsourced IT management and building management companies to oversee the needs of the organization and facility.</li><li>Share ideas and provide input to help Trident United Way respond to the unique needs of the community.</li><li>Engage in team meetings and always demonstrate the Trident United Way culture.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned or requested.</li></ul> QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Must have:</li><li>Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).</li><li>Ability to research OMB Uniform Guidance, understand, and apply complex federal, state, local, and other laws, regulations and guidelines to various accounting, payroll, and grant related functions and procedures.</li><li>Prior work experience in the nonprofit sector.</li><li>Proven record of successfully managing multiple state, federal, corporate, private funded grant programs in excess of $250k.</li><li>Knowledge of the grant application process and a proven record of receiving, tracking, and auditing grant awards.</li><li>Multi-cultural sensitivity; the ability to demonstrate a sensitivity and awareness of diversities in people and cultures.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership ability; experience leading and developing a team.</li><li>Proven ability to energize and motivate others.</li><li>Ability to think and communicate information visually through various types of communication media (e.g. print, electronic, presentation software).</li><li>Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills; ability to ask questions and provide feedback with a commitment to quality, responsibility, and high work standards.</li><li>Strong time management skills, with focus on the ability to handle multiple project needs simultaneously.</li><li>Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive, strategic, integrated effort to build the base of individual Palmetto Society donors ($1,000 and up) and Tocqueville donors ($10,000 and up) and increase their level of support through annual giving at Trident United Way (TUW).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential Function 1:
Identify, cultivate and steward multi-year top tier donors ($10,000 and up) and engage donors in multi-year step-up programs,
Essential Function 2:
Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward leadership gift donors ($1,000 and up) to achieve the goal approved by the Board of Directors for outside the workplace campaigns.
Essential Function 3:
Support and staff a volunteer Palmetto Steering Committee to identify, cultivate and steward individuals in order to develop resources by filling the key positions of regional chairs, leadership-level giving chairs, and at-large steering committee members as identified in the Palmetto Society Business Plan.
Essential Function 4:
Provide strategy and guidance to the Events Coordinator to plan events designed to recruit, cultivate and/or steward leadership-level gift donors and/ qualified donor prospects through regional events as identified in the Advancement Plan.
Essential Function 5:
Work in collaboration with Corporate Advancement Officers to identify leadership donor prospects from the workplace campaigns and create and implement engagement strategy for reaching out to those donors.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
<ul><li>Work with and effectively manage high level volunteers to engage prospects.</li>
<li>Input, track, and monitor donor touchpoints, gifts and accomplishments through Andar database and prepare required reports.</li>
<li>Collaborate with Communications and Advancement teams to develop fundraising materials and communications.</li>
<li>Bring donor thoughts and reaction back to the organization and provide constructive feedback to the Community Impact and Marketing departments.</li>
<li>Support interdepartmental team leaders with strategy and project management.</li>
<li>Support Vice President of Advancement with Workplace Campaign Meetings, as requested.</li>
<li>Participate in all TUW events and activities demonstrating the ability to be a good colleague, proactive collaborator and team builder.</li>
<li>Function as an integral member of the Advancement team assisting with planning, solicitation, implementation and evaluation.</li>
<li>Participates as a champion, project lead, and/or member of organizational development teams as required.</li>
<li>Work outside normal office hours when required to include evenings or weekends and additional hours during peak times.</li>
<li>Complete Andar training as appropriate when offered</li>
