Job Summary:

A The Engagement Coordinator (EC) is a temporary, full-time seasonal position that supports United Way of King County's Workplace & Philanthropic Giving and Volunteer Engagement teams during the annual campaign season. Engagement Coordinators serve as ambassadors of United Way's mission by helping corporate partners create meaningful opportunities for employees to give, volunteer, and engage with the community.

Working closely with members of the Institutional Philanthropy Team; ECs coordinate workplace campaigns, facilitate volunteer experiences, support donor engagement activities, and ensure partners receive exceptional customer service throughout the campaign season.

This highly collaborative role combines relationship management, event coordination, project management, and community engagement. Successful candidates are organized, adaptable, customer-focused, and energized by working with people while representing United Way in the community.

Throughout the season, Engagement Coordinators will regularly travel throughout King County to support workplace campaign kickoffs, volunteer projects, kit builds, donor engagement events, and other community initiatives. Engagement Coordinators will also utilize Mission CRM to document partner interactions, maintain account records, and monitor engagement activity.

This is a seasonal full-time position from August 31, 2026 – December 14, 2026 with compensation of $26.00 per hour.

Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrated understanding of social and racial justice and equity, with a proven commitment to apply racial and economic justice lenses in both personal and workplace contexts.
  • Lived experience and/or demonstrated professional skills working within a diverse work environment.

Corporate Partner Engagement

  • Support a portfolio of workplace giving accounts throughout campaign season.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned corporate partners, providing timely, responsive customer service.
  • Assist Engagement Managers in planning and executing workplace giving campaigns tailored to each partner's goals.
  • Coordinate campaign logistics including kickoff meetings, promotional materials, presentations, and follow-up communications.
  • Build positive relationships with campaign directors, employee volunteers, and company leadership.

Volunteer Engagement & Community Impact

  • Coordinate and facilitate corporate volunteer opportunities, including kit builds, donation drives, packing events, and community service projects.
  • Partner with Volunteer Engagement staff to execute volunteer events from planning through completion.
  • Manage event logistics including scheduling, registration, materials preparation, room setup, volunteer check-in, facilitation, and event wrap-up.
  • Serve as an onsite representative during volunteer experiences, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and engaging environment.
  • Help identify opportunities to deepen partner engagement through volunteerism beyond the annual giving campaign.

Event Coordination

  • Support workplace campaign kickoffs, donor stewardship events, volunteer experiences, recognition events, and community outreach opportunities.
  • Coordinate speakers, presentation materials, event supplies, and logistical details.
  • Represent United Way professionally at partner locations throughout King County.

Relationship Management & CRM

  • Maintain regular communication with assigned partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Document account activity, meeting notes, campaign progress, and engagement metrics within Mission CRM.
  • Monitor campaign milestones and proactively communicate updates to Engagement Managers.
  • Prepare mid-season campaign updates and assist with campaign reporting.

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively across Workplace Giving, Volunteer Engagement, Marketing & Communications, Gift Processing, and other departments to ensure seamless partner experiences.
  • Assist teammates with high-priority projects and seasonal initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas that improve partner engagement and operational efficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a collaborative approach.
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings and engaging groups of people.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout King County for partner meetings and events.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in customer service, nonprofit organizations, volunteer management, event planning, project coordination, fundraising, or corporate partnerships.
  • Experience coordinating volunteer events or employee engagement activities.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Mission CRM experience is a plus; training provided).

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of social and racial justice and equity, with a proven commitment to apply racial and economic justice lenses in both personal and workplace contexts.
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners.
  • Lived experience and/or demonstrated professional skills working within a diverse work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 2-3 years of Experience in customer service, event planning, or campaign coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable commuting for in-person events and activities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems is a plus; training in Mission CRM will be provided.
