Job Summary:The Associate Vice President, Major Gifts directs all aspects of high-level donor cultivation, stewardship and relationship management. Associate Vice President, Major Gifts

This specialist will collaborate directly with clients by providing navigation, support and case management services. On the 211 team the navigator will support our Caregiver program (30-40%). Additionally, this specialist will collaborate directly with clients receiving loaned devices through Techquity WI to help them gain digital skills, troubleshoot technical issues, and feel confident using their device to support their everyday needs for education, employment, health monitoring, and more. The role will involve identifying eligible individuals, onboarding program partners, guiding enrolled individuals through technology setup, supporting laptop distribution events, and providing ongoing digital literacy training and navigation. This assistance will be provided virtually, with some in-person assignments but may also include other communication methods that work for the learner. The Parent Educator contributes to the achievement of United Way of El Paso County’s (UWEPC) mission, vision, and Education Community Impact goals by addressing a key strategy: family home visitation programs.&nbsp; The Program Manger’s responsibility is to successfully deliver the Parents as Teachers program, an evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework that builds strong communities, thriving families and children who are healthy, safe and ready to learn.

	KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Parent Educator delivers the essential PAT program functions, to include:
<ul><li>Preparing for and conducting monthly or bi-monthly home visits, including home visits with reoccurring access to vulnerable populations, which will require 27 to 35 visits per month</li>
<li>Partner with families to improve well-being, reflect with families regarding parenting styles, and facilitate discussions and play activities to foster healthy development</li>
<li>Planning and conducting group connections and family appreciation events</li>
<li>Conducting screenings and assessments for parents and children</li>
<li>Utilizing identified resources available to provide family support</li>
</ul>Administrative Compliance for Parents as Teachers
<ul><li>Complete data entry in two electronic databases including Penelope (PAT) and Extended Reach.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate and complete family file records.</li>
<li>Complete daily timesheets, staff weekly and monthly reports, monthly mileage and expense reports by set deadlines.</li>
<li>Participate in monthly reflective and administrative supervision sessions.</li>
<li>Recruit families to maintain a full caseload by conducting presentations in small or large groups.</li>
<li>Request donations and incentives for active participants in the Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.</li>
</ul>Professional Development
<ul><li>Complete at least 20 hours of professional development each year to maintain Parents as Teachers credential.</li>
<li>Attend all required trainings: Core Curriculum trainings, Technology Training, PAT Foundational and Model Implementation trainings, Ages and Stages Questionnaire, Life Skills Progression, Cultural Competency Training, Health Screenings and other trainings as recommended by program to enhance professional skills and capacity building.</li>
</ul>EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS
At least a four-year bachelor's degree in education, Health, Child Development, Sociology, or a related field is required.&nbsp; An equivalent combination of education, experience and skills and abilities will be considered.&nbsp;
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

POSITION: RESILIENCY NAVIGATOR 
 

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Community Resiliency 
 
Purpose: The Resiliency Navigator supports the mission of El Paso United 

Family Resiliency Center by connecting clients and members of 
the community with resources to help promote healing and 
resiliency in the wake of the shooting on August 3, 2019. The 
Resiliency Navigator supports the efforts United Way of El Paso 
County as the backbone of the Family Resiliency Center under the 
direction of the Director. 

 
 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 
Case Management 

ï· Provision of holistic and comprehensive assessment, case management, crisis 
intervention and behavioral health services to clients including but not limited to 
intake assessment and ongoing problem-solving. 

ï· Provide referrals and resources to community members seeking support as a 
result of the tragic shooting on August 3, 2019. 

ï· Provide a warm hand-off for community members when making referrals to other 
agencies or partner programs. Follow up with agencies and clients, as 
appropriate. 

ï· Update a directory of resources and points of contact as necessary to provide 
accurate information to community members seeking support. 

ï· Maintain accurate records of clients seeking care and obstacles faced to 
continually provide feedback to the Director on the need for evolving programs 
and resources. 

ï· Document all referrals and partnerships to facilitate necessary follow-through and 
information-sharing. 


Outreach and Programming 

ï· Provide resources in community settings easily accessible to the general public, 
taking into account barriers in transportation, hours of service, and language, 
among others.

ï· Provide a welcoming and safe environment for community members to feel 
comfortable seeking care. 

ï· Plan and facilitate community and group events in partnership with local 
stakeholders including school districts, youth programs, City, County, and mental 
health institutions. 

ï· Represent UWEPC as the face of community recovery efforts related to the 
shooting incident on August 3rd, 2019. 

ï· Represent UWEPC at any state, regional, and national conferences, forums, or 
meetings, as appropriate. 

ï· Collect, track, and report data related to the usage of the Center and services 
provided. Provide recurring updates and progress reports to UWEPC and 
partners on the services offered by the Center as well as the use by community 
members. 

ï· Collect, track, and report expenses incurred by the Center in an effort to provide 
services to the community, to include donations, grants, and in-kind resources. 

 
Community Partnerships 

ï· Maintain working knowledge of the status of programs, engagement, and 
initiatives to fully participate and provide status updates, when necessary. 

ï· Seek and maintain strong community partnerships with local service providers 
and potential supporters. 

ï· Cultivate a strong collaborative of response and engagement in the El Paso 
United Family Resiliency Center by convening partners to assess community 
needs and strategically execute programs in collaboration with partners. 

ï· Participate in recurring program and strategic meetings to assist in shaping the 
vision of UWEPC Community Impact products and partnerships in relation to the 
El Paso United Family Resiliency Center. 

ï· Advocate for UWEPC Community Impact products with community partners and 
stakeholders. Research new programs and services that may be relevant to the 
mission and values of UWEPC. 

ï· Develop and cultivate successful strategic business/personal relationships. 

ï· Facilitate relationships with potential sub-contractors for direct services to clients 
including reporting, and information-sharing.

QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
 
Bachelor’s degree in subjects related to health and human services, non-profit or 
organizational management, public relations, communications, marketing, or social 
services, plus three years of work experience and/or an equivalent combination of 
education and experience related to the duties of the position. 
 

Must be able to pass a background check. 
 
Knowledge of the non-profit sector is essential. Skills in grant management, program 
management, case management and/or volunteer engagement are desired.

POSITION: PARENTS AS TEACHERS CASE MANAGER 
 

REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood Initiatives 
 
Purpose: The Case Manager contributes to the achievement of United 

Way of El Paso County’s (UWEPC) mission, vision, and core 
values by addressing a key strategy: family home visitation 
programs. The Case Manager is responsible for providing 
needs assessment, service planning, and monitoring and 
evaluation of case management services to children and 
families enrolled in the Parents as Teachers Program, an 
evidence-based early childhood home visitation framework 
that builds strong communities, thriving families and children 
who are healthy, safe and ready to learn. 

 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The Parents as Teachers (PAT) Case Manager Responsibilities include: 

ï· Complete intake record and identify reasons for referral. 
ï· Assist participants enrolled in the PAT Program with basic needs. 
ï· Create and customize a service plan with each participant receiving case 

management services. 
ï· Monitor and evaluate the service plan as needed during services period. 
ï· Be in contact with the family monthly until terms on the service plan are 

addressed/provided/remedied. 
ï· Complete warm-hands off/referrals to entities in El Paso that are better 

suited/preferred to meet the needs of the PAT participants. 

 
Administrative Compliance for HOPES: 

ï· Complete data entry in data entry systems. 
ï· Maintain accurate and complete family file records. 
ï· Complete daily timesheets, staff weekly and monthly reports, monthly 

mileage and expense reports by set deadlines. 
ï· Participate in monthly reflective and administrative supervision sessions. 
ï· Recruit families to maintain a full caseload by conducting presentations in 

small or large groups. 
ï· Request donations and incentives for active participants in the PAT 

program. 
 


Professional Development 
ï· Complete at least 20 hours of professional development each year. 
ï· Attend all grant-required trainings.
