The Buncombe County Long-Term Recovery Group (BCLTRG) Disaster Case Management Lead works with contracted Disaster Case Management (DCM) agencies, the Case Management Committee and Chair, to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the BCLTRG Case Management Program, ensuring survivors receive the support they need while helping DCM agencies succeed.&nbsp;As the BCLTRG Disaster Case Management Lead, you’ll play a critical role in guiding and strengthening a collaborative, survivor-centered disaster recovery program - turning a strategic vision into operational reality. Rather than directly supervising case managers, you’ll work closely with multiple community agencies, helping them build capacity, align efforts, and deliver high-quality services to impacted households. You’ll oversee program implementation, coordinate training, support data-informed decisions, and champion continuous improvement — all while ensuring that survivors’ needs and voices remain at the center of recovery efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills to a meaningful, community-driven initiative.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;Program Development &amp; Implementation<ul><li>Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of the BCLTRG DCM program, ensuring alignment with goals, guidelines, and best practices.</li><li>Collaborate with local, state, and national partners (including NC VOAD, FEMA, NC DCM, and others) to align program approaches and stay informed on evolving disaster recovery strategies.</li><li>Work with the BCLTRG Program Manager to manage electronic data systems and ensure timely access to accurate data.</li><li>Ensure access to accurate data to inform decision-making about growth and optimization of the DCM program.</li><li>Regularly review and analyze DCM program data and identify priority continuous quality improvement efforts of the DCM program.</li><li>Prepare regular reports for the Case Management Committee, BCLTRG Steering Committee, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Collaborate with the Case Management Committee Chair to plan meetings, set agendas, and share updates.</li><li>Coordinate communication relevant to the DCM program with other BCLTRG Committees in order to promote overall LTRG program alignment.</li><li>Represent BCLTRG on relevant regional and statewide calls or working groups.</li><li>Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows to ensure effective DCM delivery.</li><li>Develop strategic relationships with key partners in order to promote effective coordination across disaster response efforts.</li></ul>&nbsp;Workforce Training &amp; Support<ul><li>Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to DCM.</li><li>Onboard new DCM agencies to the BCLTRG program.</li><li>Plan and facilitate DCM team meetings.</li><li>Develop, implement, and manage ongoing workforce training programs, ensuring best practices and trauma-informed care approaches.</li><li>Support the Case Management Committee Chair in facilitating DCM agency meetings, creating space for resource-sharing, challenges, and collaborative problem-solving.</li><li>Create job aids and tools to strengthen team capacity and ensure efficient, survivor-centered service delivery.</li><li>Track and elevate DCM workforce feedback related to program needs, challenges, and resource gaps.</li><li>Champion emotional and spiritual well-being of the DCM workforce, recognizing the intensity of disaster recovery work.</li><li>Participate in BCLTRG and United Way events and experiences as scheduled or requested.</li></ul>This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are associated with the position.
