However, this position is responsible for ensuring after-hours coverage and coordinates with third-party after-hours vendor to ensure seamless operations. Also supports 211 Navigation Center team during normal and holiday hours.General Responsibilities:<ul><li>Acts as liaison between the program and the Homeless Management Information System provider, working with them to create reports, train new team members, schedule audits, etc.</li><li>Hire, train, and supervise an assigned team</li><li>Manage daily operations, including scheduling and managing time off for assigned team. Coordinates with 211 Program Manager and 211 Director for supplemental shift coverage for planned and unplanned staffing shortages. Acts as back up when needed.</li><li>Serve as liaison with shelter directors and others to whom the program makes shelter referrals; follow up on complaints/problems with referrals.</li><li>Represent program at internal and external meetings, coalitions etc. specifically in required Continuum of Care meetings and subcommittee meetings across the region. Provides leadership at these tables and can make operational changes, that do not impact finances, that are suggested or needed by committees.</li><li>Remains apprised of developments or changes in regional homeless and prevention services. Communicates trends, changes, challenges, and plans with leadership on a regular basis.</li><li>Pull and create monthly and quarterly grant related reports to submit to Director for final approval. Presents reports at internal and external leadership meetings.</li><li>Provides timely updates and training to team related to homeless services and resources, processes and call work flow updates, and database updates.</li><li>Develop process and procedures for all after-hours support functions. Position: RESOURCE SPECIALIST 

 
Reports To: Manager of Resiliency Center 
 
Purpose: The Community Resource Specialist supports the mission of 

United Way of El Paso County (UWEPC) by serving as the first 
point of contact for community members, partners, and volunteers 
engaging with the Resiliency Center. This role provides direct 
client support, ensures smooth administrative operations, and 
strengthens partnerships to enhance service delivery. The ideal 
candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to 
community resilience. 

 
 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
Client Services 

ï· Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries via phone and the El Paso 

Helps platform. 

ï· Greet and assist community members, donors, volunteers, and partners. 

ï· Conduct participant intake and collect eligibility information. 

ï· Maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants. 

ï· Keep an updated directory of community resources and partner contacts. 

ï· Accurately document participant interactions, referrals, and barriers to service. 

ï· Schedule appointments for participants, with Resiliency Navigators. 

ï· Track and log client data and feedback for continuous program improvement and 

reports. 

ï· Work from assigned site as needed. 

ï· Other duties as assigned

Administrative Support 

ï· Maintain and update a central database of partner and stakeholder contact 

information. 

ï· Manage phone lines, reception messaging, voicemail, and general inquiry 

emails. 

ï· Assist in meeting logistics: invites, RSVPs, vendor coordination, and calendar 

updates. 

ï· Track and report Center usage data and community engagement statistics. 

ï· Draft correspondence, reports, memos, and other written materials as needed. 

ï· Provide general administrative support to Center staff. 

Community Partnerships 

ï· Stay informed on programmatic and community initiatives. 
ï· Develop and maintain partnerships with local service providers and stakeholders. 
ï· Facilitate collaboration between community partners to meet evolving community 

needs. 
ï· Represent the Center in strategic meetings to help shape United Way’s impact 

strategies. 
ï· Promote and advocate for UWEPC programs and values through relationship 

building. 

Community Engagement 
 

ï· Collaborate with other United Way teams to deliver partner support. 

ï· Attend community events and represent United Way’s mission and initiatives. 

ï· Promote public awareness and cultivate support among local organizations and 

businesses. 

Qualifications 

ï· Associate degree in office administration, business, nonprofit management, 
social services, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and 
experience. 

ï· Minimum of 2 years of related professional experience. 

ï· Familiarity with nonprofit sector is a plus. 

ï· Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance. 

ï· Bilingual in English and Spanish required. 

ï· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 

ï· Familiarity with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and virtual meeting platforms. 

ï· Experience with case management or CRM systems preferred. 

ï· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally. 

ï· Excellent project coordination and data-driven decision-making skills.
