Summary: 
The 211 Information and Referral Specialist (Specialist) is responsible and accountable 
for delivering quality, professional information, and referral services to callers. The 
Specialist serves as the front-line representative to the public, responds to incoming 
calls/texts/chats and makes follow-up calls on a scheduled basis. Contacts range from 
requests for simple information to complex cases with multiple needs requiring time 
spent on advocacy and/or crisis intervention. 
 
Duties/Responsibilities: 
Phone Specialist 

 • Answers incoming calls/texts/chats on an assigned schedule. 

 • Assesses caller’s needs and makes accurate referrals to appropriate agencies, 
programs, and services. 

 • Provides crisis intervention to callers according to established protocols. 

 • Research answers to new questions and requests for unknown services 
according to established protocols. 

 • Advocates for individuals who are experiencing difficulty or lacking the ability 
needed to make effective contact with agencies, programs, and services in 
partnership with 2-1-1 Director. 

 • Schedules and makes follow-up calls according to established protocols. 

 • Accurately records transaction information on all caller contacts. 

 • Works effectively as a team member in a shared work environment. 

 • Attends team meetings, on-site trainings, conferences, and workshops to

General Description:&nbsp;This grant-funded position will work to empower communities to promote drug free lifestyles; build community structures to support those lifestyles; and encourage and support coordinated, systemic approaches to the prevention of substance use. The SFSF curriculum is a structured, evidence-based program designed to improve family communication, connection and parenting skills. This role plays a vital part in promoting family resiliency and strengthening protective factors in military-connected households with children 0-17. The Program Coach facilitates these sessions using a strengths-based, culturally competent, and trauma-informed approach, often through a combination of in-person and virtual formats, depending on the needs of the families.The ideal candidate for this role is self-directed, holds a current DoD ID card and has lived experience as part of a military family, providing valuable insight into the unique strengths and challenges faced by military-connected households. They possess strong relationship-building and communication skills, particularly in engaging with military leadership and community partners. The candidate must be adaptable and willing to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate family schedules or to participate in occasional outreach events that support program visibility and engagement.UWSA successfully manages multiple state grants, which provides program funding including pay and benefits for team members involved in servicing those grants. Grants are awarded for a fixed duration (typically 3 to 5 years) but are generally renewable.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES<ul><li>Responsible for coordinating and executing the objectives of the Strong Families Strong Forces program.</li><li>Develop and implement a strategic outreach and recruitment plan targeting military families with children ages 0 to 17.</li><li>Conduct client intakes and program enrollments while maintaining accurate and timely documentation in the client tracking system.</li><li>Facilitate SFSF curriculum sessions in-home, virtually, or in group settings, engaging both parents and children in a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach.</li><li>Maintain regular communication with enrolled families to support engagement and successful program completion.</li><li>Assess families for additional needs and connect them with appropriate resources and referrals as necessary.</li><li>Collaborate with the SMVF Director to support the development and execution of a family engagement calendar to promote program retention.</li><li>Identify and establish relationships with community and military partners to support referrals and outreach efforts.</li><li>Represent the SFSF program at community meetings, military events, and outreach activities to raise awareness and build trust with military families.</li><li>Deliver presentations about the SFSF program to internal staff, donors, community stakeholders, and military leadership.</li><li>Participate in cross-agency collaboration efforts, including the ReadyKidSA Coalition, to support shared goals and referrals across the SMVF network.</li><li>Submit program updates, family success stories, and performance metrics to the SMVF Director on a regular basis.</li><li>Work with the UWSA marketing team to support development of outreach materials, social media content, and promotional items.</li><li>Assist the Grant Director in ensuring program activities are aligned with grant expectations and compliant with reporting requirements.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the Service Members, Veterans, and Families.</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE<ul><li>DoD ID card holder</li><li>Associate’s degree - required;
