The Chief Development Officer successfully establishes, deepens and grows major individual, business, and corporate relationships. They employ new and innovative engagement approaches, including corporate social responsibility and leadership giving strategies to reach new markets and donors. They are responsible for implementing annual plans and making course corrections when required to meet annual fundraising goals.&nbsp;KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSSupervisor Duties<ul><li>Supervision of the entire Development team including fundraising managers and a data specialist.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop, lead, mentor and provide supervision for Development staff maximizing and empowering the team to develop and implement growth objectives and strategies. Enable the team to meet the ongoing needs of broadening and diversifying philanthropic support. Create effective development plans for staff to enable them to grow in skills and abilities as the organization grows into its multi-year vision.</li><li>Perform general supervisor tasks such as leading regular team check-ins, approving timesheets, reviewing purchases and mileage, etc.&nbsp;</li></ul>Development Overall&nbsp;<ul><li>Support the CEO and other staff in furthering United Way of Weld County’s development, community impact and nonprofit excellence objectives. Serve as a member of the staff executive team.</li><li>Design and implement a strategic and comprehensive fundraising system to achieve annual revenue goals through major gifts, planned giving, corporate relationships, individual giving, and special events.</li><li>Develop, refine and implement strategies for individual, leadership and planned giving; solicit major gifts from a portfolio of current and prospective donors, both individual and business.</li><li>Develop, refine and implement corporate engagement strategy that establishes partnerships with new businesses and markets across Weld County and furthers those already established.</li><li>Analyze results and effectiveness of the development plan, utilizing a Customer Relationship Manage magnet (CRM) System as part of a results-driven strategy.&nbsp;</li><li>Provide a high level of support and open communication to the Board of Directors on development-related activities in ways that inspire them to action and strengthen their commitment.&nbsp;</li><li>Build and maintain strong relationships with the community by promoting executive participation in major community groups and boards such as the Chamber, Rotary and other organizations elevating the visibility of United Way of Weld County.</li><li>Develop and sustain positive relationships with the systems and departments internally to ensure that the organization is aligned with the overall strategic plan and that the internal departments are integrated to support the successful achievement of the philanthropic plan.</li></ul>United Way of Weld County General&nbsp;<ul><li>Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).</li><li>Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.</li><li>Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.</li><li>Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.</li><li>Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>UNITED WAY WORLDWIDE CORE COMPETENCIES FOR ALL STAFF<ul><li>Mission-Focused: Catalyze others’ commitment to mission to create real social change that leads to better lives and healthier communities. Proven ability to recruit, lead and manage development staff.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience in serving as a spokesperson for an organization; above average written and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;</li></ul>POSITION INFORMATION<ul><li>Full-time (40 hours), salaried, exempt</li><li>Salary Range (C1): $101,528 - $126,238 per year<ul><li>Plus $1,500 year Spanish speaking differential, if applicable</li></ul></li><li>Supervisory duties: 3 direct reports</li><li>Reports to: President &amp; CEO</li><li>Eligible for remote work: hybrid after 90 days of employment with supervisors’ approval. It is not expected that this role will maintain a set remote schedule, as the needs of donors do not typically fall within a usual schedule. POSITION TITLE: Team UP AmeriCorps Coordinator 
	FLSA: Hourly 
	PAY RATE: $24.04/hour (20-40 hours per week - negotiable)

POSITION OBJECTIVE: 
	The Team UP AmeriCorps Coordinator, under direct supervision of the AmeriCorps Director, supports all programmatic aspects of Team UP AmeriCorps. This includes program planning, member management, communication/outreach, grant compliance, host site support, and data/program reporting. The AmeriCorps Coordinator will be required to build upon and create positive relationships with all entities involved with the program: members, site supervisors, community partners, funders, host sites, and the communities served.
INTRODUCTION TO Team UP AmeriCorps: 
	Led by the United Way of Southwest Colorado (UWSC), Team UP AmeriCorps places AmeriCorps State &amp; National (ASN) members directly at local non-profits, schools, and government agencies to expand or implement new programs and projects. Members serve for a 12-month term of National Service to improve outcomes in Education, Economic Opportunity, and Healthy Futures. Team UP AmeriCorps provides hand-on experience and opportunities for training and professional development to its members while supporting communities in Southwest Colorado. Team UP AmeriCorps is currently in its fifth year of programming with plans to continue and expand in years to come. Members serve within the UWSC’s five-county region: Archuleta, La Plata, Montezuma, Dolores, and San Juan counties.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
● Program Planning 
	○ Lead member recruitment initiatives 
	· Assist with updating existing and creating new Position Descriptions 
	· Post Position Descriptions on Team UP Website, eGrants/myAmeriCorps, and other relevant internal and external sites 
	· Follow, update, and improve recruitment plan 
	· Attend recruitment events; speak with potential candidates about service opportunities 
	· Manage incoming member applications by scheduling and conducting Preliminary Interviews and coordinating with Host Sites 
	○ Onboard and enroll new members at program start (September) and throughout the program year (rolling enrollment) 
	· Engage and support new members prior to their Term of Service (housing support, welcome email, regular communication, etc.) 
	· Assist with enrolling and importing member info into AmeriCorps systems (eGrants &amp; OnCorps) 
	· Assist with assisting with National Service Criminal History Checks 
	· Help plan and co-facilitate Team UP AmeriCorps Member Orientation with specific focus on team-building and connection activities 
	○ As relevant, engage with potential new Host Sites and seek opportunities for program expansion 
	● Member Management 
	○ Be responsive to member and site supervisor needs by providing support, promoting professional development, and addressing concerns through problem-solving 
	○ Learn and manage the OnCorps database system 
	· Send timesheet reminders to Members and Site Supervisors 
	· Monitor timesheets for compliance and progress 
	○ Review Monthly Status Updates from members and site supervisors 
	· Recognize successes and highlights 
	· Respond to concerns and needs 
	○ Perform periodic regional Site Visits to engage with members and ensure program compliance 
	○ Perform scheduled regional 360° evaluation to provide/receive feedback on the member, host site, and AmeriCorps program 
	○ Help plan and co-facilitate monthly Cohort Connection Calls with specific focus on connection and team-building 
	○ Help plan and co-facilitate monthly Team UP AmeriCorps trainings and/or service projects with specific focus on connection, group dynamics, and “life after AmeriCorps” 
	● Communications/Outreach: 
	○ Increase Team UP AmeriCorps presence on social media by managing current and creating new accounts 
	○ Increase local knowledge of Team UP AmeriCorps through community communication 
	○ Update and possibly create new marketing and recruitment materials keeping in line with the AmeriCorps and Team UP brand guidelines 
	● Grant Compliance: 
	○ Learn about and comply with all grant contacts and program policies 
	● Host Site Support: 
	○ Assist with Site Supervisor Orientation and as-needed periodic host site trainings 
	● Data Management/Program Reporting 
	○ Assist with internal and external reporting efforts
ADDITIONAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: 
	● Represent the AmeriCorps Director at meetings or functions when required 
	● Coordinate with UWSC’s Team UP Collective Impact Initiative 
	● Attend applicable AmeriCorps training and conferences 
	● Provide feedback on and assist with the betterment and expansion of Team UP AmeriCorps 
	● Be a steward of UWSC and AmeriCorps in our five-county region
