Position Summary 
The Community Investments Manager supports the Community Foundation and United Way of Volusia-
Flagler Counties’ (CF UWVFC) strategic investment efforts. The goal of this position is to support the 
organization’s ability to drive positive change by strategic investments in the community through 
grantmaking and grant management. United Way professionals should exhibit core competencies: 
mission-focused, relationship-oriented, collaborator, results-driven and brand-steward. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
Business Acumen &amp; Strategic Direction 

 • Write, and manage grant opportunities that align with the CF UWVFC’s strategic 
investment goals. 

 • Prepare and submit reporting for grants and contracts as required. 
 • Share internal reporting to inform and communicate impact of investments. 
 • Steward non-profits through grant application, award process, and follow up reporting in 

CRM system. 
 • Oversee 2-1-1 database including updates and referrals including Publix Emergency Fund. 
 • Management of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program to include 

communications with Internal Revenue Service, Site Coordinators and volunteers and 
budget management. 

Outward Turning 
 • Maintain strong relationships with non-profits, funding agencies and partners. 

 
Talent Management &amp; People Development 

 • Receive and provide feedback in a constructive way. 
 
Operational Planning &amp; Execution 

 • Support events as needed.

 • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR four years of relevant work experience. 
 • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate the key stakeholders, 

peers and staff.

 • Excellent computer skills (minimum of Microsoft software programs) and attention to

Working Conditions &amp; Physical Requirements 
Work is carried out in a controlled, agreeable environment as generally represented by normal office 
conditions. Employees may be required to assist with or attend various offsite events related to programs 
or fund raising that are scheduled evenings and/or weekends. These events may require several hours on 
your feet and assisting with heavy lifting and carrying.

The Outreach Coordinator contributes to the achievement of United 
Way’s mission and vision through development and implementation 
of marketing strategies and outreach services for the El Paso 
United Family Resiliency Center, which assists with the needs of 
victims and families affected by the El Paso Walmart mass violence 
incident. 


 
MAJOR DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 
Marketing and Communication 

The Outreach Coordinator supports the Family Resiliency Center by developing and 
fulfilling the duties of a comprehensive event and outreach marketing plan. 

ï· Works with the center’s Director to coordinate educational and resource events, 
activities and workshops. 

ï· Develop collaborative relationships with a wide variety of El Paso area 
neighborhood organizations, schools, city and county agencies, as well as faith-
based organizations and other partners. 

ï· Plan and implement promotional strategies for all programming to broaden program 
participation and deepen general public awareness of Center through multiple 
channels including print, digital, and broadcast, public presentations and grassroots 
communication. 

ï· Establish relationships with service agencies for optimal understanding as to what 
is provided, to whom and for what purpose. 

ï· Collect information regarding available resources including financial, goods and 
services to maintain and distribute resource listings. 

ï· Creates content to promote El Paso United services to include design and 
copywriting. 

ï· Create dynamic written, graphic, and video content 

ï· Analyzing, manage, and alter schedules where necessary to optimize visits and to 
target audiences in a timely manner. 

ï· Manage and optimize El Paso United social media channels, including Facebook, 
Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms 

ï· Coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy.

ï· Coordinate media relations and maintain strong relationships with external 
public relations and communication partners and broadcast and print media 
outlets. 

ï· As needed, serve as center’s photographer 

ï· Support website maintenance. 

ï· Assist and/or write scripts for media interviews and special events. 


Stay current on marketing, social, economic and political trends that may have an effect on 
Center and United Way of El Paso County and make recommendations to enhance our 
image based on those trends.

Under the direction of the Director, Community Impact, the Partner Engagement Manager is primarily responsible 

for recruiting agencies into GetHelpOC including demonstrations, relationship management, onboarding, ongoing 
support, and peer learning of GetHelpOC: a Community Information Exchange (CIE) community partner network. 


Key Duties and Responsibilities 
 • Identify partner needs and create customized implementation plans for partnering with 211OC and 

GetHelpOC CIE participation. 

 • Maintain community engagement, and partner onboarding strategy to recruit new service providers 
into GetHelpOC. 

 • Ensure adequate end-user training and support that results in rapid and sustained adoption and 
GetHelpOC utilization. 

 • Ensure consistent updates, communication, and high-quality functionality for the GetHelpOC platform. 
 • Design, facilitate and lead GetHelpOC Partner User meetings, newsletters, and events ensuring 

accessibility. 
 • Manage the day-to-day oversight of GetHelpOC Resource staff including goal tracking, direction, and 

staff support, monitoring and coaching/guidance. 

 • Assist with collaborative processes involving a variety of stakeholders, including social service 
providers, clinicians/health partners, hospitals, health information exchanges, and vendors to 

achieve coordination and collaboration with regard to the availability, enhanced functionality, 
and utilization of the community information exchange. 

 • Create and build avenues of learning for diverse groups, including innovative approaches to engage 
staff at partner agencies with blended learning opportunities. 

 • Maintain training material for GetHelpOC and the resource department.

 • Monitor the success and opportunities of GetHelpOC Partner Network and communicate those

 • In collaboration with internal teams, adhere to contract deliverables and security protocols for

The manager will work with an established group of stakeholders who Mission United uses to connect veterans to health and human services.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:<ul><li>In collaboration with United Way leadership, manage program operations for Mission United.</li><li>Manage, develop, and guide Veteran Care Coordinators in serving veterans in need of support.&nbsp;</li><li>Manage a subset of program deliverables assisting the program reach certain program outcomes.&nbsp;</li><li>Foster a productive, positive, and supportive team atmosphere.&nbsp;</li><li>Proactively participate in cross department efforts that support the overall success of Mission United and United Way.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintain accurate records of care coordination activities and outcomes, and prepare reports on program performance for senior management.</li><li>Develop and implement care coordination strategies to ensure seamless transitions between different levels of care.</li><li>Assist the program in reaching contract deliverables and remaining in compliance with various partners and funders.&nbsp;</li><li>Monitor and evaluate care coordination activities, problem solving, and making necessary adjustments.</li><li>Represent Mission United in the community through external outreach with supporters and partners.</li><li>Conduct other duties/ tasks as assigned by the Vice President of Community Impact for the success of the Mission United program.</li></ul>Experience/Qualifications:<ul><li>Minimum three years of experience serving military/veteran populations in human, social service, and or nonprofit settings.</li><li>Three to five years of military experience required</li><li>Bachelor’s degree required.</li><li>Previous experience leading staff and or volunteers preferred.</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills that support productive relationships with United Way staff, administration, volunteers and community organizations.</li><li>Proficient in analyzing program data.</li><li>Excellent communication skills- written and verbal.</li><li>Knowledge of community resources in Northeast Florida desired.</li><li>Knowledge of and experience with the Veterans Administration (VA) as well as VA services and benefits preferred</li><li>Skills in managing grant deliverables and expenses</li><li>Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other related computer programs.</li><li>Ability to work effectively on site and in virtual environments.</li><li>Ability to work effectively under stress and maintain productivity and composure under pressure</li><li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment</li><li>Ability to use good judgment and assessment techniques</li><li>Ability to pass and maintain a Level 2 background check is required.&nbsp; This is a security background investigation requiring submitting fingerprints to be screened through state law enforcement agencies and the FBI for national criminal history records&nbsp;</li><li>Must pass pre-employment drug screening</li><li>Staff members who drive a vehicle on UWNEFL business must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance.&nbsp;</li></ul><ol><li>Keep all activities in line with the core values and contribute to the positive culture of United Way of NE Florida.&nbsp;</li><li>Actively participate in the broader organizational activities and be a brand steward within the community, outside agencies and/or programs to enhance United Way services to the community.</li></ol>Compensation and Benefits:<ol><li>Competitive Pay – Commensurate with education and experience based on current market</li><li>Health Insurance – Generous zero to low-cost Medical, Dental, and Vision for employees and dependents</li><li>403(b) Matching – Generous matching up to 6% of annual pay</li><li>Holidays – 11 paid holidays, three personal holidays, and four year-end bonus days</li><li>Vacation – Two weeks paid vacation&nbsp;</li><li>Flexible Schedule – Hybrid working environment with the ability to modify as needed</li><li>Vibrant Work Environment – office space in The Jessie in downtown Jacksonville, a nonprofit and community gathering space in a sustainable, state-of-the-art facility with free monthly parking</li><li>Purpose – Help United Way transform NEFL into a community of opportunity and hope for ALL people</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>A fun, challenging, and inclusive culture</li></ol>General Physical Requirements for Essential Functions of the Job:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
