SUMMARY:

The Impact Manager (IM) plays a key role in helping United Way Emerald Coast (UWEC) bring people, organizations, and resources together to solve our community’s greatest challenges. This position helps turn ideas into action by building strong non-profit partnerships, coordinating community initiatives, and ensuring our investments create meaningful, measurable impact across Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Working alongside the President & CEO, the IM serves as both a relationship builder and a project manager – connecting non-profits, businesses, and volunteers while keeping grants, events, and collaborative initiatives moving forward.

The ideal candidate is energized by both working with people and the behind-the-scenes work that makes community impact possible. Success in this role requires organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and a genuine passion for strengthening our community.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of UWEC's community impact work by coordinating non-profit relationships, grantmaking and funding processes, non-profit capacity-building initiatives, community partnerships, and direct client assistance initiatives, as assigned.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with non-profit partners, schools, volunteers, businesses, foundations, and community leaders, serving as a trusted resource and ambassador for UWEC.
  • Guide non-profit organizations through UWEC's certification, grant application, award, and reporting processes, providing exceptional customer service and technical assistance.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute UWEC's educational events and collaborative initiatives, including the annual Non-Profit Conference, Volunteer Week, and other community engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor funded programs and community initiatives to ensure compliance, accountability, accurate reporting, and measurable community impact. Collect, aggregate, and interpret data from internal and external sources to evaluate community needs, measure outcomes, and inform data-driven funding, program, and partnership decisions.
  • Leverage technology to improve operations by designing and managing webforms, online applications, surveys, and data collection tools that support efficient processes and informed decision-making.
  • Provide back-office support for partner foundation(s), managing grant administration from application through reporting while ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Marketing to share compelling impact stories and ensure consistent messaging across programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
  • Support UWEC's volunteer engagement strategy by working with the department to coordinate individual and corporate volunteer opportunities, strengthening volunteer recruitment, and creating meaningful experiences that align with organizational priorities.
  • Working with the Development Team, help secure financial resources necessary to advance community impact work through grants, sponsorships, earned revenue, and other funding opportunities. Support the development, implementation, reporting, and compliance of funded initiatives.
  • Represent UWEC at community meetings, speaking engagements, volunteer events, and partner functions, strengthening relationships and increasing awareness of UWEC's mission and impact.
  • Stay informed on community needs, emerging trends, and best practices to help strengthen UWEC's programs, partnerships, and community investments.
  • Assist with department budgeting, operational planning, special projects, and other organizational priorities as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all activities align with UWEC’s core values and foster a positive organizational culture.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities as related to the duties of the position.
  • Support the organization’s disaster response efforts, when necessary.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Aligned with and committed to UWEC’s mission, vision, and direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 1+ year of experience; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data tracking, CRM platforms, or grant systems preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident public speaker and facilitator.
  • Strategic, detail-oriented, and adaptable; able to manage multiple high-impact projects and deadlines.
  • Experience building relationships.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and represent UWEC with professionalism and discretion.
  • Commitment to continual learning and improvement.
