Basic Job Summary :

United Way of Acadiana is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Volunteer Center and Data Strategy Coordinator to help amplify our impact through strategic data use and community volunteer engagement. This dual-role position combines leadership in managing and evolving our Volunteer Center operations with advanced data analysis to inform decision-making, measure outcomes, and enhance community impact.

The ideal candidate is equal parts systems-thinker and people-connector—able to support strategic data initiatives while fostering volunteerism throughout Acadiana.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Volunteer Center Oversight & Engagement (Approx. 50%):

  • Support day-to-day operations of the United Way Volunteer Center, including volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, and recognition
  • Collaborate with community partners and nonprofit organizations to assess volunteer needs and promote opportunities
  • Maintain and enhance volunteer management systems to improve scheduling, matching, and communications
  • Track and report on volunteer engagement metrics, such as hours served, demographic trends, and retention rates
  • Plan and coordinate special service initiatives such as Days of Action, disaster response efforts, and corporate volunteer events
  • Serve as a key liaison between volunteers, nonprofit agencies, and internal teams to ensure a high-quality, mission-aligned volunteer experience

Data Strategy & Analysis (Approx. 50%):

  • Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to United Way programs, community needs, and volunteer impact
  • Design and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations to support performance tracking and storytelling
  • Develop data-informed insights and recommendations to guide program strategy, grant reporting, and donor communications
  • Coordinate community surveys and assessments to identify local needs and monitor emerging trends
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Excel, Galaxy Digital, or other CRM tools)
  • Support staff and partners with data literacy and training where needed
  • Safeguard data privacy and ensure compliance with regulations and internal protocols

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Business Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, data analysis, or community engagement
  • Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data visualization/analysis tools
  • Familiarity with volunteer management platforms (e.g., Galaxy Digital, HandsOn Connect) preferred
  • Experience working with CRM or database systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities, work independently, and collaborate across departments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of local community issues and social service networks in Acadiana
  • Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven settings
  • Understanding of Results-Based Accountability or similar impact evaluation frameworks
  • Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish) is a plus
