Reports To: Vice President of Communications and Donor Engagement

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-Time. Core hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30 p.m. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Purpose of Position: This position plans and executes events to engage United Way donors, volunteers and community leaders in our work. This includes volunteer initiatives and special events for our donors.

Position Responsibilities

· Create, organize and implement special events for diverse audiences ranging from 10-500+ people.

· Handle all event arrangements including, but not limited to scouting out and securing venues, scheduling dates that work with key volunteers, invitation design, pulling guest lists from United Way's database, monitoring RSVP's, menu and decor selection, ongoing event support and follow-up after the event.

· Conduct post-event evaluations to assess goal achievement, attendee management and connection to United Way's mission through annual giving.

· Manage robust database of events attendees and produce target mailings for event promotion.

· Design and create interactive engagement activities to promote United Way's work in access to health care, basic needs, school readiness and workforce development.

· Develop concepts and new ideas as needed for events. Write and proof event support materials.

CURRENT AND POTENTIAL FUTURE WORK (subject to change)

· Help grow United Way's donor engagement groups through volunteer projects, special outreach and events.

· Development, implement and manage volunteer projects to connect our current donors and prospective donors with our work. This can include sourcing and purchasing products.

· Support the work of our donor engagement steering committees and councils including the management of their budgets.

· Manage donor database to track donors and identify prospective members of our various donor engagement groups and/or company champions.

· Other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Communications and Donor Engagement.

Position Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field of study or equivalent work experience.

2. A minimum of three years of related work experience.

3. excellent oral and written communication skills.

4. Strong organizational skills. Must be detailed oriented.

5. Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

6. Adaptable and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Deadline oriented.

7. Work with diverse groups of people.

8. Must maintain access to reliable self-sufficient transportation.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although rare some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
