POSITION SUMMARY (Hybrid, 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)

The Senior Manager of Strategic Insights is an exciting opportunity to join the United Way Worldwide team in a pivotal and highly collaborative role in supporting United Way staff and board volunteers to (1) address crucial and evolving community needs; (2) lead local United Ways in their next era of impact, relevance, and sustainability; and (3) advance the transformation of United Way’s global Network.

The Manager will provide cross-functional project management and research support for priority work including local United Way Network research, performance assessment and provision of high-value services to support the advancement of the Network as a whole. 

The successful candidate will bring exceptional skills and relevant experience in project management, research and analysis, data entry and analysis, document and presentation preparation, collaboration, communication, and relationship building. 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategic Insights, the Senior Manager is a member of the Global Network Advancement Team, which is charged with stewarding the success of 1,100 local United Ways across 36 countries through learning and development, impact strategies, research and insights, and performance monitoring and coaching to ensure that every United Way is best able to meet the needs of the local communities it serves. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Serve as the lead project manager for for high-priority work across internal cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, ensuring detail-oriented document and presentation preparation, meeting coordination and follow-up, and timely achievement of goals.
  • Support the Research & Data Insights team in gathering and analysis of data from local United Ways, internal and external partners to inform actionable performance, community, and impact insights.
  • Provide the Network Partnerships team with customer centric and detail-oriented support for key Network priorities including the Membership Certification process, improving the effectiveness and impact of local United Way data management, updating information on internal knowledge sharing platforms, as well as other duties as assigned. 
  • Provide Strategic Insights team support including assisting with meetings, research, database management, as well as other duties as assigned. 

 JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Minimum requirements for the role include: 

  • Demonstrated success in complex project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in database entry and management. 
  • Demonstrated experience in research and analysis, including the ability to review, synthesize, and present information and findings. 
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and success working across teams with quickly changing priorities. 
  • Demonstrated mastery of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access), with experience in Smartsheet and Salesforce preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and implementation for virtual and in-person meetings. 
  • Requires a high school diploma. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 
  • At least three years of intermediate level experience in a similar role.

SALARY STATEMENT:

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Salaries are determined by several factors including applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
