We are searching for Senior Manager of Corporate Engagement  who is a leader responsible for responsible for establishing and achieving annual fundraising goals for assigned high value accounts, including strategies to increase donor participation, leadership giving and financial support to United Wayand be part of our United Way team located in Hartford CT.

What You’ll Do:

Account Management and Fundraising:

Responsible for establishing and achieving annual fundraising goals for assigned high value accounts, including strategies to increase donor participation, leadership giving and financial support to United Way.  

  • Develops and implements year-round engagement strategies with assigned workplace accounts to retain current and attract new donors to raise more revenue and increase donations directed to United Way. The individual will focus on high value/revenue generating accounts, the focus on business development and possible leadership volunteer management. 
  • Represent United Way by attending at least one external networking event per month to build relationships. 
  • Establish and build strong individual relationships within assigned accounts to cultivate strong year-round engagement with United Way through giving, advocacy, and employee/volunteer engagement including strategies that directly impact emerging leaders. 
  • Manage stewardship and cultivation of an assigned caseload of leadership volunteers.
  • Serve as a primary staff contact for companies and individuals within established areas regarding the giving; special events; corporate sponsorships; strategic investments; and employee engagement. 
  • Leads presentations and corporate engagement events within portfolio and beyond as needed. 
  • Strategically secures funds outside of annual workplace campaign, including corporate sponsorships, special events and employee engagement projects.  
  • Works collaboratively with internal departments to meet annual revenue and engagement goals.  
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of account data input within the organization’s Stratus Live system, including timely and accurate processing of campaigns in partnership with Finance. 

Business Development:

  • Create a new business development strategy that fosters growth in sponsorship dollars, corporate gifts and employee giving efforts.
  • Partner with Senior Manager of Affinity Groups to pursue opportunities for growth in United Way’s regional priority areas. 

Leadership Volunteer Management:

Provide support for development related committees as needed. 

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field required.
  • Three to five  years fundraising, or sales experience required.
  • Experience in workplace giving and/or corporate philanthropy preferred (United Way and/or corporate workplace giving campaigns)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, and customer relationship management (CRM) preferred.
  • Entrepreneurial, strategic thinker and solution oriented.
  • Inspirational, can do spirit leadership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple priorities, and able to react and adjust quickly to changing conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally.
  • Ability to keep their composure with the public and co-workers in everyday, stressful situations.
  • Strong customer focus in all tasks and activities, even while at times under pressure.
  • Solid relationship management skills enhancing internal organizational relations, external community interactions, and in business development opportunities.
  • Ability to perform job with integrity and values consistent with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.
  • Ability to relate well with people from diverse groups.
  • Holds self and other team members accountable for achieving results.
  • Driver’s license and valid transportation required.
