POSITION SUMMARY

The Resource Development Data and Insights Manager (RDDIM) manages and optimizes the data, reporting, and processes of the Resource Development Team (RD). The RDDIM is responsible for overseeing and further developing the UWSL Resource Development team’s use of our CRM tool, Salesforce, to support fundraising, portfolio management, donor engagement and stewardship, outreach, and campaign efforts. The RDDIM will lead the effort to maintain and enhance the quality of donor and volunteer data, ensure best practices for constituent engagement, keep data accessible, and extract and share reports and analytics that drive decisions and development strategies.

The RDDIM supports all verticals of the RD department, collaborates with UWSL’s Data Operations team, and represents RD in cross-departmental data projects. The RDDIM, in consultation with Data Operations, manages the department’s technology roadmap, determining as needed what the RD team needs, what products are available, and what will best meet those needs. This potentially includes researching new platforms and analyzing the effectiveness of existing products used by the organization.

In addition, the RDDIM supports the Director of Engagement and Operations in the reporting and analysis needed to execute donor stewardship and mass solicitation campaigns to provide an excellent donor experience for those supporting United Way of Salt Lake and Utah’s Promise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Data Management, Training, and Support

  1. Establish and maintain data integrity: document procedures and protocols to keep data clean and enhance RD efficacy and outcomes. This includes ensuring Salesforce data is up to date through regular screenings and working with other departments (i.e. Finance, 211) to ensure information is updated accurately and regularly.
  2. Develop and maintain training materials and best practice documents to standardize data entry and reporting requirements for the RD team. Work closely with the RD team to ensure accurate, complete data entry and updates including removing duplicate records as needed.
  3. Educate the RD team on building reports, managing report updates, and essential Salesforce relationship management processes.
  4. Act as RD’s primary point of contact for Salesforce-related technical inquiries, offering troubleshooting assistance.
  5. Collaborate with Data Operations Team and external vendors to explore and implement additional RD related-apps and software options for Salesforce (i.e. Wealth Screening) and resolve technical issues as needed.

Reporting and Optimization

  1. Develop and maintain RD Salesforce reports, data segmentation, dashboards, analytics, and data projects that support RD department goals and priorities.
  2. Meet regularly with frontline fundraisers on RD team to manage portfolio data: proactively review portfolios, identify qualification opportunities, and ensure portfolios are dynamic.
  3. Assist in creating and tracking revenue forecasts and results in Salesforce.
  4. Meet with department leadership team to review data projects and prioritize data needs
  5. Manage mass communication data for both mail and email efforts: pull mailing lists, clean, revise, and review data for accuracy, complete mail merges, and send data to mail house.
  6. Improve RD team workflow automation to ensure efficient, consistent, and personalized constituent engagement.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
