Prevention Network Coalition Coordinator, VISTA

Purpose of Position

Join United Way’s Prevention Network as a member of the backbone team which engages network partners across the Northwest VT region, manages network communications, and supports collaborative projects. As part of the backbone team, this role is dedicated to advancing the Prevention Network’s mission to prevent substance misuse and promoting wellbeing in our communities. The primary purpose of this role is to work in close partnership with United Way staff and community-based prevention coalitions, fostering collaboration in order to advance the Prevention Network’s goals of sustainable and equitable activities across the region. 

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to: 

  • Work closely with a core group of United Way staff members and 5-7 community coalitions dedicated to preventing substance misuse and promoting well-being.
  • Collaborate with coalitions to plan and execute collaborative projects, events or programming aligned with the goals of the Prevention Network. 
  • Work with the coalitions to assess community needs and tailor programming/events to address community needs. 
  • Develop and maintain effective communication channels between the Prevention Network, coalitions, and community stakeholders.
  • Establish mechanisms to monitor the progress and impact of collaborative projects.

Qualifications

  • Available to start August 1st, 2024 (position starts August 1st, 2023, and ends July 31st, 2025, with the possibility to renew for another 12-month term).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess skills in the following areas: communications, project coordination, meeting facilitation, relationship building.
  • Passion for community wellbeing
