President & CEO, United Way of Central Georgia
United Way of Central Georgia (UWCG) is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to serve as its next President & CEO. Based in Macon and serving a diverse region—including the newly incorporated Griffin-Spalding United Way—UWCG drives community change with a focus on helping families achieve financial stability and addressing homelessness, especially among ALICE households (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed).
Summary
As CEO, you will serve as the organization’s chief strategist, fundraiser, community connector, and brand ambassador. You’ll partner with a passionate team, an engaged board, and public/private sector leaders to advance bold, measurable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and execute the strategic vision of UWCG, ensuring measurable community impact
• Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the organization
• Drive fundraising and resource development, including major gifts, grants, and partnerships
• Engage and support the Board of Directors in governance and strategic initiatives
• Build and maintain partnerships across sectors to address root causes of poverty and housing insecurity
• Oversee organizational operations, finances, staff leadership, and compliance, including oversight of the Griffin-Spalding United Way
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Proven executive leadership experience (10+ years preferred) in nonprofit, corporate, or public sectors
• Strong track record in fundraising, donor relations, and financial stewardship
• Experience managing teams, partnerships, and complex community initiatives
• Skilled communicator with public speaking experience and high emotional intelligence
• Passion for mission-driven work and commitment to improving lives in Central Georgia
