About Us:
Susquehanna Valley United Way is a community-based organization dedicated to identifying community needs, facilitating collaboration, and maximizing resources to positively impact our five-county region.
Position Overview:
The President and CEO serves as the face of Susquehanna Valley United Way, representing the organization to internal and external stakeholders, including employees, board members, businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and community members. This role requires visionary leadership, strategic planning, and effective management to drive the organization’s mission and ensure its ongoing relevance and impact within the community.
The President and CEO will be responsible for overseeing community impact, resource development, governance, and strategic management, as well as ensuring strong fiscal health and accountability. This includes managing budgets, ensuring financial sustainability, and providing oversight of financial operations to support organizational growth and long-term success. The role also involves organizational leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture, and driving collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies that address systemic challenges identified through community assessments.
- Lead fundraising efforts to secure financial support from diverse sources, including individual donors, corporate partners, grants, and other funding streams.
- Review and analyze organizational financials, ensuring a clear understanding of funding sources, including grants, to support sustainability and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set, evaluate, and adapt the organization’s strategic direction.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing management and operational team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, business, non-profit management, or communications or equivalent combination of education and experience..
- Experience:
- Executive leadership experience in nonprofit organizations, business sectors, or other relevant fields, with a proven ability to manage teams, oversee operations, and drive organizational success.
- A strong track record in resource development, fundraising, and cultivating financial sustainability.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of community stakeholders, including donors, board members, and partners.
- Experience in developing, executing, and evaluating strategic plans to achieve long-term organizational goals.
- Proven ability to lead change, navigate complex challenges, and drive growth in dynamic environments.

Compensation:
Competitive salary range of $65-$80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
