PHP Full Stack (Drupal) Developer
POSITION SUMMARY (Hybrid, 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)
United Way Worldwide (UWW) has a new opening for an experienced PHP Full Stack Developer with expertise in Drupal who is capable of developing innovative, feature-rich professional websites and applications for UWW. You should have exceptional programming skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic. UWW allows for a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office. Additionally, you will be able to manage multiple tasks while delivering projects on time and within budget.
Your role will drive UWW’s web-based, data-driven applications and the entire life cycle development of products used within United Way Worldwide's various websites. You should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to gather customer needs and requirements, and the ability to translate objectives for non-technical staff. The work further requires designing, developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining web applications. This is a hands-on position.
To be successful in this role, you will minimally have mastery of Drupal 7/9/10 and PHP and CMS development. If you have experience with Expression Engine, ColdFusion, MySQL, MS-SQL, CSS, Ajax, and Salesforce, that is a definite plus.
As a PHP Full Stack Developer you must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level and be able to work on-site in Alexandria, VA on a hybrid basis:
- PHP and CMS development
- Develop Drupal applications as needed by the organization.
- Maintain and support enterprise-level applications developed in Drupal.
- Assist with the design and implementation of application platforms.
- Design, develop, test, document, deliver, and maintain new applications for systems.
- Gather requirements and translate them into system design.
- Configure and integrate products and solutions to enhance web-based applications.
- Experience with SAML or equivalent SSO
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least three to five years of hands-on experience in web development.
- Prior experience hosting websites in AWS infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of PHP and PHP libraries
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and/or other web development languages
- Experience using continuous integration tools (i.e., Github, Jenkins, etc.)
- Drupal and Content Management System best practices knowledge
- Experience with and knowledge of other CMS applications, including Expression Engine, WordPress, and related systems.
- Experience with and knowledge of theme functions and the Drupal theme layer
- Continually improve technical skills to stay current with new technologies and system development methodologies via CEUs, workshops, or professional training.
- Contribute ideas and efforts towards internal projects and working as a team to solve various problems.

SALARY STATEMENT
The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $85,000 to $90,000 per year. Salary is determined by several factors including the applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
