OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBLITIES
The Philanthropy Manager is responsible for establishing, growing and strengthening relationships with corporate, employers, employees and individuals for greater engagement. They will leverage community relationships to build trust and partnerships while supporting the development and implementation of the department and overall organization strategic plan. This person will work directly with the entire Philanthropy team to meet fundraising goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Articulate and passionately communicate United Way’s work with all internal and external constituents, through conversations and community presentations.
- Create, nurture and leverage relationships to increase giving, participation and engagement.
- Develop a thorough understanding and support for the mission and work of United Way, through strong relationships with other departments.
- Actively engage in business networking opportunities as assigned, including scheduled before and after-hours activities.
- Utilize and help develop the CRM system (ANDAR) for relationship management, communication records and data accuracy.
- Support fundraising initiatives and events as assigned.
- Serve on event project teams providing marketing and communications support including the development of invitations, materials, messages and program scripts.
- Be proactive and collaborative in helping staff develop and prepare materials and communications that is newsworthy, timely and meaningful.
- Create Systems, SOP’s, documents, tracking systems.
- Create proposals for partnerships involving diverse entities to actively participate in community fundraising initiatives, engage with community business groups, and foster investor appreciation.
- Build on assigned portfolio of investors.
- Have in-depth knowledge of all workings of UWWC including partners and investors.
- Use knowledge of systems, partners and investments to make connections and guide and build internal and external relations to access community resources.
- Creating, planning, supporting, United Way of Weld County events, including but not limited to Leadership Socials, Recognition events, community events, fundraising events, etc.
- Showcase United Way of Weld County’s position and reputation as the trusted, accountable agency, collaborating to deliver solutions for the community’s greatest challenges.
- Takes initiative and sees tasks through with minimal supervision balanced with cooperative teamwork.
- Assist in periodically reviewing and developing department budget.
United Way of Weld County General
- Support and promote the mission, values, goals and objectives of United Way, including representing United Way in professional organizations and the community (as assigned).
- Support fundraising efforts of United Way and activities that support United Way.
- Support United Way annual events, disaster response, and other activities as assigned.
- Participate in staff meetings and in service opportunities.
- Contribute to organizational promotions including writing promotional copy, proofreading informational and campaign materials, participation in outreach, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related areas
- At least 1 years’ of additional experience in the field of relationship management, fundraising, sales or related field.
- Experienced knowledge of the Weld County area with a strong network of relationships is helpful.
POSITION INFORMATION
- Full-time (40 hours), non-exempt
- Pay Range (H9): 26.73-31.32 per hour
- Plus $.74 per hour Spanish speaking differential, if applicable
- Supervisory duties: n/a
- Reports to: Chief Development Officer
- Eligible for remote work: hybrid after 90 days of employment with supervisors’ approval
- Background and credit check required

Salary range
- $26 - $31 per hour
