OUTREACH AND COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR Program and Marketing Directors The Outreach Coordinator contributes to the achievement of United Way’s mission and vision through development and implementation of communications and marketing strategies and outreach services for the United Way of El Paso’s in- house programs, which assist with the needs of families and individuals recovering from trauma, facing financial hardship or potential homelessness, and families with children ages 0 to 5.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketing and Communication
The Outreach Coordinator supports program Directors by developing and fulfilling the duties of a comprehensive event and outreach marketing plan.
ï· Works with the center’s Director to coordinate educational and resource events, activities and workshops.
ï· Develop collaborative relationships with a wide variety of El Paso area neighborhood organizations, schools, city and county agencies, as well as faith-based organizations and other partners.
ï· Plan and implement promotional strategies for all programming to broaden program participation and deepen general public awareness of Center through multiple channels including print, digital, and broadcast, public presentations and grassroots communication.
ï· Establish relationships with service agencies for optimal understanding as to what is provided, to whom and for what purpose.
ï· Collect information regarding available resources including financial, goods and services to maintain and distribute resource listings.
ï· Work with Director of Marketing and Engagement to create content to promote El Paso United services to include design and copywriting.

ï· Create dynamic written, graphic, and video content ï· Analyzing, manage, and alter schedules where necessary to optimize visits
and to target audiences in a timely manner. ï· Manage and optimize El Paso United social media channels, including
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and other relevant platforms ï· Coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy.
ï· Coordinate media relations and maintain strong relationships with external public relations and communication partners and broadcast and print media outlets.
ï· As needed, serve as agency photographer
ï· Support website maintenance.
ï· Assist and/or write scripts for media interviews and special events.
Parents as Teachers Build and maintain relationships with community partners to help promote the PAT program.
ï· Plan and attend community events, health fairs, and school functions to share information about PAT.
ï· Develop outreach materials, presentations, and social media content in English and Spanish.
ï· Follow up with interested families and assist with the intake and enrollment process.
ï· Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate records for reporting and program improvement.
ï· Collaborate with the PAT team to ensure smooth transitions from outreach to home visiting services.
Stay current on marketing, social, economic and political trends that may have an effect on Center and United Way of El Paso County and make recommendations to enhance our image based on those trends. Special Events
Be part of the support team during special event(s). Other Job Duties
ï· Understand the UWEPC concept, mission, purpose, philosophy and background to handle routine calls from public in an effective and diplomatic way.
ï· Maintains confidentiality of all materials, and uses judgment and tact in dealing with internal and external inquiries.
ï· Plans and prioritizes work to meet scheduled deadlines; adjusts personal schedule to assure completion of tasks, assignments, etc.

ï· Proven initiative, self-management and cross-departmental (team concept) collaboration.

ï· Work with leadership to streamline processes and improve ROI on all fundraising activities.
ï· Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned.
Community Engagement
ï· Work effectively with other teams at United Way to provide appropriate support and value to partners. Leverage relationships to create additional opportunities with other organizations and individuals.
ï· Participate in recurring program and strategic meetings to assist in shaping the vision of UWEPC Community Impact products and partnerships in relation to El Paso United.
ï· Foster creative thinking and facilitate future partnerships within corporate accounts.
ï· Attend key community events and activities as a way to promote United Way of El Paso County’s mission, vision and core values becoming a defined community ambassador for United Way.
ï· Cultivate community support for United Way by maintaining contacts with local organizations, businesses and individuals.
ï· Experience working in collaborative environments and cross functionally to achieve goals.

QUALIFICATIONS
ï· Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.
ï· At least two years of relevant work experience is preferred. Staff person must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple marketing communications projects. Experience in copywriting; event coordination; and media relations required.
ï· Experience working in collaborative environments and cross functionally to achieve goals.
ï· Strong project management, process improvement, or other applicable experience.
ï· Strong analytical skills using data to support decisions.
ï· Problem-solver and self-starter who initiates solutions; collaborates and negotiates effectively with team members, partners, and stakeholders. Strong ability to distill and communicate complex issues and concepts to others.

ï· Must have experience in Adobe Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) as well as capturing and editing photos and video.
ï· Knowledge of the non-profit sector is a plus as well as some experience in public health campaigns, and or/mental health information.
ï· Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
ï· Strong leadership, verbal and written communication skills; and strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
ï· Must possess the ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects.
ï· Excellent Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
ï· Superb researcher

ï· Strong knowledge of social media platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram.
ï· Must have experience with capturing and editing photos, video, and audio.
ï· Must be able to work a flexible schedule with the possibility of early morning, evening, and weekend work.

ï· Familiarity with El Paso communities and local resources is highly valued
ï· Passion for early childhood development, family engagement, and community support.
ï· Experience in outreach, case management, family services, or community organizing is a plus.
ï· Comfortable presenting in front of groups and one-on-one with families.
ï· Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple outreach efforts at once.
ï· Valid driver’s license, insurance and vehicle required.
