Position Summary

United Way of Central Indiana recognizes that the key to success is a strong and cohesive team that works through shared values to achieve our mission. The Marketing and Digital Campaign Specialist is a member of our Marketing team and responsible for managing our online giving and event platform, Classy. This role serves as a linchpin in our organization's digital presence, ensuring seamless coordination between our marketing strategies and fundraising objectives and strategic information. Through Classy, our designated platform for peer-to-peer fundraising, this role orchestrates strategic campaigns aimed at mobilizing our community to support our cause. From designing compelling online giving pages to leveraging digital channels for campaign promotion, the Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving donor engagement and fostering meaningful relationships.

As a member of the Marketing team, the Marketing and Digital Campaign Specialist occupies a unique position at the intersection of storytelling, community engagement, and philanthropy. By leveraging marketing expertise to amplify our impact and amplify our reach, this role serves as a catalyst for change, inspiring others to join us in our mission to create a better, more equitable future for all.

This role is also responsible for managing technologies and processes that guide strategies in acquisition, engagement, and retention of audiences critical to the fundraising and communications success of United Way of Central Indiana. The Specialist will also manage our project management system, Monday, to help streamline workflows and ensure seamless execution of marketing materials and campaigns.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

•      Coordinate project management across the marketing, communications and events teams to ensure projects are completed within prescribed time frame and meet the needs of internal/external stakeholders.

•     Work closely with fundraising, operations and finance teams to manage our digital fundraising platform, Classy.

•      Facilitate cross-functional and cross-organization collaboration by working with internal and external stakeholders to collect and interpret donor, volunteer and prospect data from a variety of sources.

•      Serve as a knowledgeable liaison between the Marketing team and other parts of the organization, providing expertise and best practices as related to acquisition, digital engagement, audience segmentation and activation.

•      Work directly with the Digital Communications & Advertising Senior Manager and Creative Senior Manager to activate a content strategy that drives audiences to action.

•     Manage relationships with external vendors and advertising outlets

•     Lead the organization in recruitment of peer-to-peer fundraisers

•      Actively builds and maintains relationships with past and current peer-to-peer fundraisers through in-person and digital communication.

•     Works with Manager of Special Events to plan and execute pre-event gatherings for peer-to-peer participants.

•     Provide encouragement, best-practices/tips and tricks, fundraising ideas to participants.

•     Create internal and external recruitment plans for peer-to-peer events.

•      Track and analyze performance to goal in terms of peer-to-peer fundraiser acquisition and develops recruitment plans that respond to this data.

•      Brainstorm and execute unique opportunities for donors and event attendees to engage at peer-to-peer fundraising events.

•      Curate creative ways to engage in peer-to-peer fundraising outside of events. This includes mapping out an idea and solidifying incentives for fundraiser participation and engagement.

•     Performs special assignments and other work, on an as-needed basis.

Education and/or Experience

•     Associates' degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

•     Required experience includes writing and editing content for email and the web, along with fluency in Google

Analytics and Squarespace.

•      Demonstrated ability to generate reports, work comfortably with complex data, and proven experience working cross-functionally in a complex organization are also required.

•     Knowledge of the nonprofit sector is a plus.

•     Preferred: 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
