JOB DESCRIPTION

The Manager, Innovation Accelerator, will manage and run the Social Innovation Accelerator, the flagship capacity building program for social entrepreneurs. This 11-year-old program is hitting its stride. We are seeking an insightful leader who can manage the robust Accelerator program confidently, identifying key updates that will streamline and improve the experience for future participants, alumni, and volunteer stakeholders.

The program manager will work with the other Social Innovation team members, in addition to other Community Impact team members and UWMD staff, to support continuous improvement of existing UWMD projects and initiatives and to support the execution and rollout of new Community Impact projects and initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Owns the Social Innovation Accelerator program, including:

  • Operational day-to-day program management, including,
    • Recruitment & pipeline development
    • Manage application & selection process
    • Lead continual evaluation and improvement
    • Manage all aspects of bootcamp: including but not limited to logistics, curriculum development, implementation
    • Coordination of the volunteer mentors, advisers and committee members
    • Contribute to the development of the annual Pitch celebration
    • Support programming and resources for fellowship alumni
  • Maintain and update data records and systems related to the program
  • Coordination with the Resource Development team and VP, Innovation & Design to fundraise for the program and maintain ongoing stakeholder engagement with funders
  • Coordination with the Marketing and Resource Development teams to execute marketing strategy, communications plan, and events for social innovation activities and programs
  • Assists VP, Innovation & Design in Social Innovation program strategy and execution; regularly collaborates with the other team members on program operations and events
  • Participation in activities, as needed, to support initiatives implemented by the Community Impact Department, Resource Development Department, Marketing Department, and UWMD overall

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; specialization in Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or related fields preferred.
  • Graduate degree or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Program / Project Management preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 4 years of work experience, with a background of 2 years in program management, is extremely preferred.
  • Management experience is preferred but not required.
  • Background in nonprofit management, social entrepreneurship, social enterprise, and volunteer engagement is a plus, but not required.
