General Description:  

The Community Partnership School Manager implements the Community Partnership School™ (CPS) program in Hallandale Beach, FL. This role is responsible for developing programs, leading a team, and managing grant requirements in a school environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities: 

  1. Responsible for fostering a positive environment and day-to-day operations of direct staff, to include staff coaching, supervision, performance accountability and ensuring each team member is appropriately suited for their role. Additional management responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training and development.
  2. Serve as the programmatic contact for school administrators and campus-based programs. 
  3. Identify, develop, and implement engaging programming that supports the collective vision of community schools. 
  4. Manage data collection across the Community Partnership Schools (CPS) network of services.

Other Job Duties:

 

  1. Demonstrate understanding of high-needs communities and knowledge of community organizing principles. 
  2. Build rapport with teachers, staff, parents, and community members to be an advocate for student and community needs.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete student participation and engagement data.
  4. Develop a volunteer network to support community schools. 
  5. Connect participants with expressed social service need to the Hallandale Beach CPS network and track referral satisfaction. 
  6. Participate in event planning and direct logistics to include marketing, budgeting, and scheduling. 
  7. Establish annual team goals and objectives, track and report results.
  8. Deliver timely communication through regular management and team meetings.
  9. Coach, support, and evaluate team member performance, taking corrective action if needed.
  10. Prepare written materials for the purposes of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information. 
  11. Serve as a core member of the Community Partnership School Operations Team. 
  12. Present the Community Partnership School™ model to multiple stakeholders, including students, parents, and community leaders. 
  13. Follow and enforce district policies and procedures. 
  14. As needed, work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  15. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities, as requested by supervisor.
  16. Due to the leadership role United Way is called upon to play in the community, particularly during times of crisis, it is the expectation that all United Way staff will be fully engaged in the organization's crisis plan and response efforts.
  17. Understands and respects the diversity of economic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds and situations.
  18. Actively participate in the COA accreditation process. 

Supervises: Supervises CPS Coordinator Staff

Education, Skills and Experience Requirements: 

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in an Education, Human Services, or Social Services related field and four years of combined experience in community outreach OR 
    Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s degree in an Education, Human Services, or Social Services related field and eight years of combined experience in community outreach. 
  • Ten years of experience in children’s services, education, or community health with at least two of those years in program development and administration, may be supplemented for an accredited degree.
  • Prior Supervisor experience required.
  • Proficiency required in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task with a flexible, organized, and can-do attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English required; Bilingual preferred).

Preferred Experience: 

  • Experience leading programs or project management. 
  • Experience building community relationships.
  • Experience working with data to inform practice.
  • Experience in contract management or grant reporting. 
  • Knowledge of the education system, including after-school and classroom coordination.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy in a school setting.

Environment & Physical Demands: The environment is climate controlled (i.e., heated and air-conditioned). Lighting is adequate through overhead lighting as well as windows and blinds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Physical demands include sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time, bending, lifting approximately 25 pounds, regular use of the telephone, copier, fax, and computer.  Demands also involve protracted concentration.
