POSITION SUMMARY
(Eligible for Hybrid/ 3 days in office - Alexandria, VA)
The Lead Associate, 211 Network Engagement is a motivated, detail-oriented associate tasked with coordinating all project administrative processes and tasks related to 211 network engagement. The position supports program inquiries, project communications, building responsive solutions to local team needs, and supporting 211 Network Engagement staff. The Lead Associate is essential to enabling project implementation and management, network communications and event planning. The individual is responsible for supporting the managers and directors in improving and maintaining internal processes related to communications, network-facing events, network capacity building (United Way Worldwide’s 211 Team provides coordination at the national level to a diverse Network of 200+ 211 teams).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION
An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:
- Support the 211 Network by managing information and tools, coordinating and planning key meetings, events, and trainings, and managing the collection of data and information from the Network.
- Manage the annual calendar of external events and meetings for the 211 team including coordinating dates to ensure leadership availability for key events, setting up calendar invites and webinar links, managing registration process, sending reminders and follow-up emails, and all other communications related to network events.
- Provide pre-event planning and onsite logistical support for key events hosted by the UWW’s 211 team, including 211 Day, the 211 Leadership Summit, and the 211 Operations Conference.
- Support conference content development, speaker engagement, conference session RFP process. Work with Manager and Director of 211 Network Engagement to ensure content alignment with learning strategy and network needs.
- Support on-site event activities such as exhibit hall logistics, assisting with attendee needs, and e ready to support leadership staff.
- Work in close collaboration with Manager of 211 Network Engagement and UWW Events Team on event planning, vendor management, venue coordination, registration processes, and follow-up activities to ensure smooth event execution that meets UWW’s high standards.
- Help coordinate the production and distribution of event materials, including agendas, presentations, and promotional items.
- Assist in maintaining and updating public-facing content, including the 211.org and 211 Toolkit, ensuring materials and information are accurate, current, and accessible.
- Support the development and dissemination of communication tools, resources, and best practices for 211 leaders, ensuring alignment with UWW's strategic vision.
- Provide superior customer service to local United Way and 211 Network representatives inquiring about 211 projects, resources, and events by providing timely and thorough responses and information. Identify needs for new resources to support the network and collaborate with 211 team members to develop and publish tools as needed.
- Develop positive working relationships with internal UWW staff in marketing, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure effective communications and workflow.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements include:
- High school diploma or commensurate experience.
- Specific interest and study/work experience in the areas of community development, social service support, and transportation access solutions.
- Experience in event planning required; experience in conference planning preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong communication, research, and project management skills.
- Customer service experience required.
- Ability to work both as a member of a team and independently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a demonstrated background or interest in creating new, effective solutions and processes.
- Previous experience with documenting or developing internal processes and protocols for effective implementation.
- Comfortable working daily with a computer to complete work.
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel required; experience with Smartsheet preferred.

SALARY STATEMENT
The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $62,000 to $72,000 per year. Salary is determined by several factors including applicant’s knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
