HR/IT Coordinator

The HR/IT Coordinator is a new member of the Finance and Operations team and plays a role in relationship-building, data management, and utilizing systems to support UWABC’s long-term strategic vision.
Position is responsible for supporting key Human Resource (HR) functions, including staff recruitment/hiring and onboarding, training coordination, first to respond to staff inquiries regarding benefits or other needs, and other HR administrative support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources Coordination
- Employee Support: Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, assisting with general HR needs and supporting the Sunshine team in organizing employee engagement initiatives.
- Hiring: Support hiring processes for exempt and non-exempt staff, which includes oversight of advertising, recruiting, interviewing, screening and posting positions in collaboration with hiring managers.
- Orientation and Onboarding: Coordinate new employee orientations, prepare materials and ensure all required documentation is completed.
- Employee Records: Maintain and update employee files and HR databases, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date.
- HR Administrative Support: Provide general HR support, including assisting with benefits administration, preparing reports, and managing HR documentation.
- Compliance: Ensure HR records and processes are compliant with relevant labor laws and internal policies.
- Understand and uphold the extremely confidential nature of the position and documents relating to the position.
- Follow all established HR processes and suggest changes to the HR Manager as appropriate.
- Together with the HR Manager, serve as an employee advocate by gathering information from employees about factors that affect morale, motivation, and efficiency.
- Manage motor vehicle and driver’s license checks in accordance with our Fleet Vehicle protocols.
- Support training program, Learn United, as requested.
IT Coordination
- IT Ticketing System: Manage employee IT support requests using the ticketing system, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of issues utilizing support of a contractor or addressing concerns yourself with the appropriate skillset.
- Technical Support: Assist with basic IT troubleshooting and support for staff using company systems and tools (e.g., email, software applications).
- Vendor Management: Assist with coordination of external IT vendors and services, ensuring proper documentation and issue resolution.
- Asset Management: Maintain asset library using Airtable database, labeling new equipment, retiring equipment with vendor input, and pulling appropriate equipment for new hires.
- Manage onboarding IT requests from hiring managers and coordinate with the appropriate internal staff.

Minimum Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field OR 2 years of Human Resources Coordination experience
- Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, and basic ticketing system software
- Experience with general HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records management
- Excellent editing skills and attention to detail
- Experience working in deadline-driven environments
- Commitment to UWABC's guiding principles and ability to model those principles
Technical Skills, Abilities and other Requirements
- Requires intermediate to advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Office/Google Suite, and other software, including Zoom and Asana
- Ability to learn and use a variety of other software platforms
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to effectively relay information and respond to questions from internal staff. Requires well-developed interpersonal communication skills, tact and diplomacy to develop and maintain effective internal customer service.
- Requires basic mathematical skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to solve routine problems within standardized policies and procedures. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Requires independent initiative under both specific and general supervision.
- High level of attention to detail and adherence to strict timelines
- Ability to maintain confidential information is critical to this position
- Ability to write in a professional manner
- Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision

This position is non-exempt from overtime regulations. Hybrid work environment: a mix of office and remote, with the majority of the hours being in the office. As part of our hybrid work policy, new employees are required to work from the UWABC office a minimum of 3 days per week for the first 90 days and then, the schedule can be modified based upon conversation with the supervisor and organizational needs.

Hiring Range and Benefits: $25/hr plus vacation, sick and personal leave and employer contributions to 401(k). This position is available July 2025 through June 2026, with no promises of renewal.
